As the headline states: Nice Quality - Sharp End MillsI'm just starting my journey with a home CNC machine and gathering bits and mills to get up and running. I have not cut with these yet but the quality is very high and the edge sharpness is flawless. The price is amazing for the quality.

Product Reviewed: Micrograin Carbide End Mill - 4 Flute-6mm Shank 6mm Diameter. (5 Pieces) for $28TL;DR; Fine Grind; Good Mfg PackagingI use these end mills in a home shop environment. I didn’t try a cut with this one but broke out the macro lens so you can see the edge quality.5 Stars Very Good valueHow I review:Reviews start with 5 stars and I subtract points.- 0 for value but I try to provide guidance-0.5 to -3 for product not matching description e.g. stainless steel is actually plated steel-0.5 to -3 for product missing badly on executionI select products carefully so low (1-3 scores) are rare but detailed comments and critiques almost always are in the review. Most of my reviews come out 4-5 range. If possible I dismantle or destroy items to examine inner workings.

The initial inspection was positive - well machined, sharp, relief cuts on tip to allow plunge cuts, and coated for steel machining - Not for aluminum. After putting one in the collet, I measured runout at .0003", well withing normal tolerance. I cut some mild steel and it did well, cutting cleanly at normal feed rates. I slowed the feed way down and tested on some RC50 bar stock. It cut clean, but after cutting I found one chipped tip. I have cut this material before with other carbide tooling without tool damage. Given the results, I would use these mainly on mild or softer steels to save wear on my expensive cutters so I can use them on harder materials. I rated these based on cost/performance. They are good cutters for the price, but they do have limitations.

This review is for Micrograin Carbide End Mill - 4 Flute-6mm Shank 6mm Diameter. (5 Pieces) AlCrXN Coating End Mill Bits CNC Milling Bit Apply Milling Alloy Steels, PRE-Hardened SteelThese mills are very well finished, with no observable defects under 40x magnification.Using my Taig CNC mill, I was able to slot 304 stainless steel bar stock and also some hot rolled plate with good results. I used a small amount of cutting oil and a light depth of cut, but the finish was quite good. I noticed that 2 of the flutes join at the center, so plunge cutting should be possible with very slow vertical feed rates. The manufacturer says that edge cuts and light slot cutting are the recommended uses. There was no discernible wear nor any chipping of the cutting surfaces, even after running 150" of cuts. These mills should not be used on aluminum stock due to the coating. These fit well in a ER16 1//4" collet.I really like these end mills, which provide a very nice finish when used properly. I only wish that they would provide chip loading and recommended feeds/speeds as part of their listing. At this price, this is a good deal for ferrous metal machining. Recommended.

These end mills (6mm) work great for me. I don't have them in a CNC machine but instead I use them in my drill press. Like anything done this way, your workpiece really needs to be held well but assuming that is done correctly, these end mills will go through anything that I've thrown at them. Brass, aluminum and mild steel are all very easy to work with these end mills, which are very sharp. The price is affordable and you should consider purchasing them. I would recommend these to anyone who needs end mills for whatever milling you do.
