We needed it to finish our generator cord for connecting to 30 amp plug on generator in order to be able use for power outages, fit with ease. Make sure wire connection are tight & doesn't pull out on checking. Plug is good quality compared to other 1's . Would definitely recommend

This is a quality product. There are better ones out there but they cost alot more. This is great for the money.

We lost electricity due to an ice storm and was able to find a generator. We needed this plug to wire a "diy dryer cord" so we could do laundry. For days I called around town went to many different hardware stores and no luck. Found 1 at aa local rv store for $78! Bought it.. still didn't work. Ordered this one not very hopeful only being $11 and it WORKS! For a family of 5 to finally get to do laundry after a week it was like Christmas is October. Highly recommend, very good quality for the price.

I needed this connector for the 220V output on a 4,000 Watt Generator. A similar product in one of the national Big Box stores was $23.The quality appears to be very good. The screws and clamps are well formed and worked well, the body of the connector is very strong, but easily disassembled to permit connecting wires to the terminals.The inside of the box contained instructions on how to connect it to my extension cord. Be aware that it list information for several types of connectors, so make sure that you identify the one you have when hooking up the wires. Electricity is very unforgiving when not connected properly!!

1-Star-Positive engagement gor the large diameter wires (#4,I think).1-Star- shiny finish that should resist residue better than dill finish1-star-flexible, thick, tight fitting rear gasket which should basically be waterproof around a large variety of wire sizes1-star-generous, tight fitting write retainer at the base of the connector positively clamps a large variety of wire sizes, preventing even the slightest movement and loads being placed on the actual wire connections.1-star-great hardware, proudly sized fire common screwdrivers-especially philips. I can't count the times I've tried to install one of these and had to go out of my way to use multiple screwdrivers, until I got one to engage the screws well enough for a positive purchase. Also, I don't know that there's a torque spec for these screws, but I'm sure that I exceeded it heartily without any sign of stripping. To some, the details of making something as simple as a plug isn't an issue. But if you've replaced dozens, then you're familiar with ask kinds of small issues with installation, reliability and robustness. It's almost a given that many of these plugs are not going to outlast your machine, and you'll plan on having to make an emergency purchase at the box store or the local hardware store for almost $30 when all you wanted to do was weld $2 worth of steel. This often taken for granted component seems to me to be reusable for decades with proper handling. I can't say that about %90 of tool accessories that I've ever bought-Especially for 1/2 the price of the box stores.

I would give this a 10 star review if I could. $29 at big box. 9 on amazon. Here is the kicker. I like this one better. Clamps down on wire very well for stress relief. Good heavy duty contacts and easy to wire up. Couldn’t ask for any better.Using this to hard wire a generator to an electrical panel box while waiting on electrical inspections on new construction.
