To repair a 75 foot garden hose by cutting out the worn section and reconnecting the 2 good ends, very easy to connect the 2 ends, perfect fit, no leaks and although made of plastic it seems strong and durable, a money saving option for sure.

So, these are a simple fix to a blown out hose. Easy to put on, simple to screw tight. No leaks, what so ever. Definitely preferred to the ones with the mini-sewer clams and brass fittings, I have some of them too... NO THANKS. Perhaps a tad more expensive, but worth having around at the tool bench. You'll thank me. LOLz. Buy'em.

I bought this to repair an expensive hose purchase I made; the female connection of the hose was connected to a hose reel and must’ve failed when water froze inside of it during our first freeze. Normally I would have just replaced the hose, but the hose was almost $150.00! When I received the new connection I was impressed with the quality of the piece that fastens around the hose- not so much with the brass fitting that slides into the hose. It’s very thin and cheaply made. However, it did work. To get into the hose and past the ribs inside the hose, I found a drill bit that that fit snuggly into the hose and drilled out the ribs. Once this was done dipped the fitting into dish soap and will slide in with help from pliers. Tighten down the hose clamp included “nicely made” over the hose covering the new brass fitting. No leaks.

As expected, it's not as good as the original factory fitting. If your hose is old or it's cold use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the hose before attempting to insert the new fitting.

These are amazing!!! We were given a few garden hoses when our neighbor moved. The hoses were well loved when we received them, and one quickly developed a leak. I tried repairing it with that "as seen on TV" hose tape but that didn't help at all. I came across a video on YouTube of how to repair hoses, and he recommended something similar to this. One huge thing he mentioned was that the metal mending kits that have clamps can lead to more problems because they catch on things easily even potentially making more holes in your hose. I was able to repair my hose within 10 minutes!! You'll need some very strong sharp scissors or a good sharp blade to cut out the piece of hose that has the leak. When you are inserting the double ended connector, make sure that the inner layer of the hose doesn't get pushed deeper inside the hose. There will be leaks if you don't have the inner hose all the way on the connector. I am so happy that I bought two because another hose sprung 2 leaks a few days later. That required removing a few feet of hose, but it still reaches the center of the yard. I'll be buying a few more of these to have on hand for future leaks!! This is way cheaper than replacing the entire hose!

Short Story:5 Stars. Easy to install. Works. Just buy it.Long Story:I had new trees planted in the spring and with the draught going on I needed daily watering. I spent over $200 dollars on soaker hoses. Spent an entire weekend wrapping the trees and flower beds with the soaker hose. Laying down new mulch covering the soaker hoses and installing an elaborate long garden hose and a few garden hose ball valves to make the process seamless. This system was working perfectly for over 6 weeks. Until my lawn guy, probably on purpose just to piss me off, got to it with his weed whacker. How I dont know because he had no business even being in the area. Regardless, the cut was so far down the line I would have had to do redo the entire system.Did a quick google found this touted to be an easy fix and it was. One day and seven dollars later the miracle arrived. A box cutter and Philips head screwdriver and 3 minutes later the repair was done. And its's working like a champ. I don't care if it only lasts a month this saved me countless hours of work. I already ordered 4 more as backup in case my lawn guy tries his nonsense again.Buy it. 5 stars.

I purchased this and returned it. It worked fine, but I used it once and hose threads had wear. Also, the compression casting is cheap plastic and will probably break if you drop it too many times. Depending on how you use you hose, if you are lucky, you may get 1 to 2 years out of this. The good part is that it is 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch. It is almost impossible to get this size in the brass ones, so you might have to use this one. I would give it 5 stars if it was 2 for $6 or $7. Then you would one to replace the other when it fails. It is easy to install, so replacing it is not an issue. In short, it is too expensive for something you will probably need to replace. However if you need 3/8 inch or 1/2 inch you may be stuck with the high price as you will probably not find a brass one in that size. I ended up going with a 5/8 or 3/4 inch brass one. Although an 5/8 inch doesn't seem much more than 1/2 inch, it was very difficult to install the larger size. I would not recommend trying the larger size.
