The product is a great idea and works well. Looks good. Just can’t seem to get it delivered without some type of damage

It is fairly flimsy and it will be interesting to see how it holds up over time. The worst part is the pins are one use only and bend very easily when trying to push them in. So if they don't all go in perfectly the first time without bending, you have to try to pull all of them out, which doesn't work without destroying them and you have a worthless hunk of aluminum. Since one of the pins immediately bent and would not go in, I had to try to pull them out. They all pulled away from the strip and broke trying to pull them out of the holes. I had to drill my own holes in the strip, countersink and find screws to use it, which defeats the purpose of having the mounting hidden beneath. I would not buy this again unless the pins were redesigned so they would not bend so easily.

Needed a transition bar for doorway with existing wood and vinyl laminate floors that were not the same height. This worked great and easy to install. I used 4 of the 6 fasteners for 30" doorway. The pegs were not difficult to push into the 1/4" holes - didn't really need a rubber mallet. There are videos of similar product (hidden fasteners) that shows how to install. Chose pewter over silver to better match brushed nickel door hardware.

This transition strip is so nice, I could hardly believe it! It worked totally well on my 1948 house where nothing is square. The plastic fasteners took up the irregularities in the floor and came through as a really straight installation. Just be sure to take your time drilling and measuring the exact location or the holes and you're in business.

Finally got around to installing on our floor and it looks great. Was easy to install and snapped right into place. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.

I really wanted to like this transition strip but the cheap plastic "hardware" plugs make it almost impossible to install. The second one bends, it's game over. And good luck driving one into the floor without another bending.

I used this product between the hex tile floor in my bathroom and the 12x24" porcelain tile in the kitchen. I used a hacksaw with a medium metal blade to cut it and the 1/4" drill bit recommended to drill the holes. The channel between the two tiles wasn't clean at all, with the included plastic plugs having to go through mortar, hardibacker and/or plywood in various places, and I had no issues at all. Additionally, with this being a 126 year old house, the floors were not level, and the transition strip did a great job hugging the floor no matter the height. Great product, I plan to use it elsewhere!

I put in some laminate flooring about 2 years ago and choose this product as a transition because of its low profile and hidden fasteners.Installation can be a little difficult depending on what your subfloor is made of. I wore out quite a few concrete drill bits but that had to be attributed to my ultra hard floor and/or my $12 Chinese hammer-drill not this product. It's important that the holes for the fasteners are deep enough otherwise you will bend the fasteners when installing and you'll end up having to pull it all up and drilling some more.I made that mistake and apparently ended up damaging the plastic fasteners enough to where some of them have broken completely over time (2 years) and now the transition is coming loose.I contacted the company and was told they do not sell the fasteners separate of the transitions so instead they just sent me some in the mail for free. Thanks guys.I'm very happy with the looks, price, performance and customer support and will certainly be inclined to use M-D Products in other little projects around the house.

This trim looks great. I love the fact that the fasteners are hidden. I use it to transition from hardwood to linoleum. There is a slight elevation change, and this trim handles it well. Once you push it down into the floor, the barbed fasteners seem to hold it in place well. I was able to cut this with a 10" compound miter saw with a 40-tooth carbide utility blade on it. A nice slow and steady motion through the material gave me a perfect cut. The only thing I hated doing was drilling holes in my floor, but that is only a bit worse than nailing holes into the floor with traditional trim.

The finish and installed product is attractive, although the hidden fastener system was a little fiddly to install in my experience. The hidden fastener system consisted of 6 ridged/winged plastic plugs. The top of each plug slides into channel guides on the underside of the strip. You drill 1/4" holes in the floor, aligned with the center line of the strip, spaced as necessary for your door opening. You then slide the head/top of the plugs into the channel to line up with your holes, and start to slowly push/ease the plugs into the holes, working back and forth along the line of plugs.I found the plugs were a fairly tight fit into the holes, and their shafts a little flexible under pressure. As a result, you need to steady them with your fingers when applying pressure from above, to stop them sliding in the channel and bending as you work them in.In my experience, the fastener design makes it difficult to tightly secure the strip onto the flooring though (there are no screws to torque down)... In my case, transitioning from vinyl to hardwood there was a slight side to side movement possible after pushing the plugs as far in as they'd go, and a slight tapping sound when walking on the transition due to a hairline space between the strip and the hardwood. I used a little clear silicone adhesive/caulk between the hardwood and the edge underside of the strip, which to addressed the movement and tapping sound.
