I got the lock for my son to be able lock up his bike while he is at school (he's in middle school). With the sophistication of the tools that thieves are using these days, there is no real way to stop someone if they are truly motivated, but that's not really the goal here. It's really just a deterent and to make it just convenient enough that a thief might pass on it and move on.This lock is the classic "U" lock design with a key to open it. It allows you to secrure the bike frame and one wheel in the lock, or to easily connect the ulock to the rack. The cable is pretty thick but flexible and is useful to loop through the wheels to sescure the bike. It's not overly heavy but it's defintiely sturdy and won't be defeated super easily. It's everything we were looking for, for our purposes, so I am happy with it.

Its a good lock, I didn't expect it to be as big but it work well on my bike. Its very thick and easy to use. Worth buying.

This is a great bike lock. I recommend this bike lock if you live in an area like me where people take things that are not theirs. It is frustrating that people steal things. But, it is important to protect what is yours.This lock is easy to use.

I got this for situations where I need something better than a shackle lock, or for expensive motorized bikes. These days it is impossible to keep thieves out, what with battery tools of every type. But this might slightly more deter thieves and give on a few more minutes away from a bike. It is very heavy, so it is not a compromise solution where weight is an issue. I also find it more awkward to use than a shackle as one is juggling 5 parts that want to escape one's grip. But I have not used it enough to get completely organized with it.

Heavy duty bike lock, it's a weighty u-lock with a cable to wrap your bike up securely. The key turns smoothly, pops on and off. Haven't had any issues with it so far. The cable is thinner than some of my chain locks, so I can't imagine locking something overnight, but for short-term or a not too expensive bike, this offers a great value for the protection.

Somethings come and go, but with this bike lock in use I feel confident that my bicycle won't. I park my bicycle in a lot of different places: outside university campus buildings, the supermarket, the hardware store... and each place has different levels of security threats for a locked bicycle. Regardless of the place, I have been feeling super confident locking up my rig with this heavy chain and pad lock - someone would have to try pretty hard and make a lot of noise to get through this thing. Highlights include the durable chain cover that keeps it from being noisy and scratching your bike, and also the fact that it comes with not just one but TWO keys. Great lock set at a competitive price.

works great in our neighborhood as a deterrent. This isn't made for large cities to leave your expensive bike somewhere for hours/overnight, but works well for our purposes.
