The shipping box insured it arrived in factory new shape. The unfinished pine wood is a little softer than I usually find pine to be, but it seems like the nature of pine these days. installation was complicated for me because the rock was uneven. Some chipping and a contoured jigsaw cut on the back of the mantle itself made for a good fit. I would recommend this to anyone with a flat mounting surface - as that would be a super easy install with the French cleat that is provided.If you look closely at the picture you can see the white caulking material they use at some of the seems did not take the stain. I added a brass strip and mahogany stain with a semigloss finish after using a pre stain product. I have the 72" version.

My new place had a fireplace with no mantel. I couldn’t believe it! How am I supposed to decorate and make everything cozy and inviting. This mantel was exactly what was needed!

The product arrived within about 3 days. When I opened the box it looked amazing! Much better quality than the other 3 mantels that I had to return. It was sturdy and looks amazing on my fireplace. My only gripe is that it had more dents and digs than I was expecting. The overall packaging was great but the hardware was just thrown, loose without being packaged, inside the box.

This mantle is absolutely perfect. It was delivered quickly and the quality is excellent. It was exactly as described and looks amazing. It was a little complicated to install because of the stone wall, however on a regular Sheetrock wall the install Should be easy. I’m very happy with this purchase.
