Works exactly as expected. I'd recommend running it at slow speed in a drill press.

I have tried other plug cutters and they have not cut as nice of plugs with consistent diameters like this one. Plugs fit tight in countersunk holes every time. The plugs also have a small chamfer on the end from the cutter that help start them in the hole. I use this in my drill press and have cut a ton of plugs for projects. Nice to be able to make your own plug from the same wood species for a project to help hide a screw location.

This tool was faster and easier than other cutters and stays sharp to cut a lot of plugs. Totally worth it

It performed as advertised! It was just a little bit dull, so I sharpened it and it works great! If I ever need another one, I will buy it again!

Purchased tool to cut 3/8 in plugs. Used a drill press and teak which is very hard. Prongs on tool bent easily making tool useless. Probably would have worked better if wood had been in a bolted down Vice so it couldn’t move.

This guy works great! I had to cut a bunch of plugs for a cumaru deck (cumaru is a Brazilian hardwood that has a 50+ year lifespan but that’s a different story). I tried using a cylindrical plug cutter but, whether I cut fast or slow, made more smoke then plug and by the time I got one cut it looked more like a guinea pig turd than a wooden plug. I picked this one up and it tore through making 70+ plugs in no time and was as sharp as it started out as. I have been very impressed by this plug-cutting but and would highly recommend it do you anybody. It is well worth the price!

First off... this is my first plug cutter so I don't have previous experience with plug cutters that I am comparing this to. I bought this cutter to cover a dozen or so screws in a stair handrail project I was working on and it turned out great. My only complaint is that it was not very sharp. It required a bit of force and it seemed to burn its way into the wood rather than cut. Maybe red oak is a little hard for this cutter? Maybe I'll try sharpening it before the next time I use it? Overall this cutter served its purpose and helped me complete my project. I wouldn't expect this to last for a lot of uses but for a few small projects and for the price it's more than adequate.

Had high hopes for this cutter but it wasn’t as sharp as a no name brand for $10.
