Coated Round Wound
MAGMA E.D. Acoustic Guitar Strings are Coated with a Phosphor Bronze alloy, and wound over a hexagonal steel core, for durability and a rich sound.
Flat Wound
MAGMA FLAT acoustic guitar strings are made of phosphor bronze, round wound, and then flattened. This process provides higher volume, brilliance, and a longer sustain than traditional flat strings. The soft, smooth surface eliminates unwanted finger noise and squeaks, providing a clear, deep sound.

I really liked the feel and sound of these strings. And the price was comparable to others on the market. I put them on my Martin and they played wonderfully. I don't play professionally but I do keep the strings clean and tidy between sessions but I noticed that the tone dropped off considerably within a couple of weeks. I'm six weeks in now and the strings sound pretty dull. I'll definitely try them again, maybe a heavier gauge, but I was disappointed by the short playing life.

I was really unsure about trying a flat wound string for my guitar, they are all I've used on bass guitar for years but had never even thought about them being made for guitar. Man am I glad I did the search and found these, I now have a new favorite set of strings...as a matter a fact I just ordered 3 more sets!

I really enjoyed the mellow tone reminiscent of nylon strings. And the reduced string noise is so nice.But the feel is like very heavy gauge strings. And totally whacked out my intonation. I don't like them enough to commit to setting up my guitar for just these strings. If I had a big collection of acoustics I would surely dedicate one of them to these unique strings. But with just the one I have to retire this experiment.

These strings are pretty nice. They have a more percussive sound with a less sustain. Great for certain applications probably not great for others. For the price definitely worth trying.
