I was able to cut through 1/4” of acrylic/plexiglas quite easily, it needed quite a bit of scoring, though. A few dozen passes while applying moderate pressure, to be more precise. If you’re cutting off edge pieces, all you need to do is score about 1/8” deep to be able to snap the piece off. If you’re cutting a hole in the middle of an acrylic/plexiglass panel, you’ll need to keep scoring until you’re almost through the 1/4” panel. The tool will slowly take material off (looks like plastic ribbons) but it is feasible. Make sure you’re making a straight line to begin with and use a thick yard stick (long wooden ruler) to guide the edge of the cutter’s blade at a perfect 90 degrees angle (I recommend taping the yard stick to secure it in place) while scoring otherwise your cut will be angled.

I was really skeptical about this little tool. I was using it to score a 12” diameter acrylic globe. To my surprise it did the trick and scored it great and was easy to hold a pretty straight line with.I also used it to score standard plexiglass sheets which this did with great eases. The sheets broke perfectly straight after using this tool.

Needed it to cut a piece of plexiglass. This is the only tool I had any luck with. Three swipes and the glass cuts even and smooth. Highly recommend

Needed this to cut some acrylic for my bearded dragon's enclosure and before I bought this I was worried. Seeing all of the reviews and how some had all this trouble with cutting the acrylic wad troublesome, but nevertheless I ordered it. And boy...I'm glad I did!It was very easy to use. Not sure why everyone is saying they had so much trouble with it and left negative reviews. Its not supposed to cut the acrylic straight away and I knew that from the getgo. But instead, it makes small marks into the acrylic so that once you score it enough, you can snap it on the edge of a hard surface like a table. I scored and scored and it was not hard at all. Keep in mind, this wasnt some thin piece of acrylic either. It was a full inch thick. Still, it was very easy. Within 5 minutes I had the big acrylic piece snapped in two with very clean cuts. So clean you would think I had it taken to a professional laser cutting place and had it cut there! I rate it 5 stars and it deserves it! Not these 1 star reviews from people who dont understand what its even for!

Its not gonna work for what it says its for but good if your looking for a wood etching tool. I can use it when I'm doing my wood art but defiantly not gonna cut glass acrylic or anything like that so the product label defiantly should change im not even sure would actually etch acrylic. Im not gonna return it because ill use it for wood.

Don't bother buying, it is crap. I should have seen if I could return it, but I assumed the time frame ran out due to me not trying it sooner because I was too caught up in moving. Even if it hadn't, I was too caught up in moving. The 'blade' head is too flimsy and shifts when trying to cut. To which, the head does not cut, it tries to etch a line which you them repeat over the same line and then 'break' the edges from. I bought this one because it was specific in supposedly being able to cut the plexi-glass (many of these only etch), and I needed that. If the head was more sturdy you could use this as an etcher. Be aware it is somewhat wobbly and a pain to use.

A good quality acrylic plastc cutter, needed to cut 5mm acrylic/pastic. Once I got the hang of using the cutter, it did the job cleanly, neatly and quickly. Very happy with purchase.

Just the job for cutting acrylic - a couple of runs applying firm pressure on the heel of the blade and acrylic is scored well enough that it breaks very cleanly when snapped along an edge. The blade folds away for safety when not in use and the handle is nice to hold and provides a good, positive grip. Not a lot more to say about it really - if you've got acrylic that you need to cut one of these will do a great job. Just make sure you've got a decent straightedge to cut along, ideally one that keeps your fingers out of the way :)

I have been looking for this product in the UK since loosing mine a couple of years ago. Since buying it from the USA I have been able to cut my perspex easily and quickly without a lot of messing about. It is well worth its price £9.96 and wait.
