I usually double wrap my son's drop bars. He does 100mi rides and the extra layer helps with soreness on the hands. This lizard wrap is so thick it's nearly as thick as a double wrap! It's also super tacky and the finishing tape matches the tape, which is a nice touch.

Lizard skins has always been the go-to for bar tape! Good adhesion and if wrapping correctly there is enough to do both bars. Durable through many hours of riding and the thickness of the 2.5 is definitely worth it when your talking about resting on the bars for hours!

This is the most expensive but also the best tape I have tried. I have tried fizik, cibelli, and others, and they have been good but this is the best. What sets this tape apart is that it is grippy without being sticky, even in the wet, feels good in the hand, and is super comfortable. No other tape I've tried has all these qualities together. Please note that the tape I got was the updated dsp bar tape with a different texture and screw-type plugs, both of which are positives.I would recommend the thickest 3.2mm version of the tape unless you have small hands or prefer super skinny bars. The thicker tape is much softer and feels way better but still has all the grip and control of the thinner tape. Please note that the instructions are super adamant about not stretching the tape. This is for good reason. If you stretch the tape a lot, then it will stress the outer skin and it will crack open after a few uses. This makes installation a little tricky. But you can still hold the tape tight and get a good solid wrap. You just have to spend a little more time and lay the tape correctly to make sure there is no bunching.

I love this bar tape. It's grippy with hands even if they are slightly wet from sweat or water. I still wear gloves because when my hands are really wet they can slip. The cushion is great on this tape, again I don't need gloves. I will ride with this tape without wearing cycling gloves on cooler days however it's that cushioned and water RESISTANT that you really don't need them.I have an orange and black bike and the orange tape color works well. Now I have not had it long to see if it cleans well however given the finish on the outside I believe it will. That said after just a few rides there's no dirt on it either.

Nothing better out there as far as I'm concerned. I suffer from overly sweaty hands and arms in the summer and had trouble holding onto my bike's handle bars. Gloves soak through and things get all squishy. With the Lizard Skins (I like the 2.5) even my sweat-soaked gloves stick to the tape. Nice and soft. I tad heavier than some others but if you're worried about 5 or 6 grams on a 16 lb bike, better to pass on one Dove bar a week.Love the two tone. I built up a very snazzy Ti singlespeed in all silver, white and red. Put this bar tape (red in the drops of course!) on a set of white/red 3T Erganova carbon bars with a white Ritchey C260 stem. Specialized white saddle with red trim.Very trickey getting the red/white transition to come out at exactly the same spot on both sides but that's more operator limitation. Watch their installation video on the LS website. When they say "don't stretch the wrap when winding" they mean don't yank on it. You do have to use a firm hand when wrapping to get a consistent wrap and to avoid gaps after a few hundred miles.I have Lizard Skins wrap on all my bikes!

This tape is dope! I have a 2013 Fuji Roubaix 1.3C that came with tape made by Fuji's in house brand called oval. Stuff didn't hold up for the first three months of ownership so I did some research on tapes and this stuff seemed like the right choice. I am not disappointed. I went with the 3.2cm thickness for deeper dampening and I'd have to say that it works as described. Don't need to wear gloves when I'm riding. The feel is amazing and the look is totally legit. We'll see how long it lasts before I have go buy more. The installation process was not hard. I'm a beginner at road bikes and I installed this stuff my self. My first time wrapping road bike handle bars and I got it right. Just check out YouTube videos on how to wrap lizard skin bar tape and you'll be fine. Also, I botched the first wrap attempt and was able to take off the tape and wrap it all over again and the stuff held up like a champ. There was some stickyness after I rewrapped however just follow the cleaning instructions they give you in the manual and problem solved. I'm so satisfied with this buy. I'll stay using this brand forever.

Got this tape to replace the stock cork tape on my Cannondale. I was looking for something with some cushion and this won. Install was easy, although I wish they made it about 6 inches longer. The tape does not have much stretch at all, so it took a few tries to get enough coverage on the top of my bars. Some extra length would allow it to be wrapped with more of an overlap for additional cushion. This tape has about 300 miles on it and I have had no issues. I ride with gloves and in dry it is very tacky and comfortable. In the rain the tape is adequate. I did not experience it getting slippery, as I have read in other reviews. To me it is a great alternative to standard cork and is a little more user friendly than the gel pads that can be added to the bars. Again, the only real issue is that it could be longer for some more flexibility in wrapping.
