Drainage hole is too small for water to adequately flow out after you water your plant. Root rot, which can potentially kill plant, will occur when stagnant water accumulates under the pot. Use the pot for other things, but I'd discourage using it to pot your hanging plants.

I used these to add hanging seeet potatoe plants on a decorative trellis at the side of my front porch for privacy. Worked great. Only negative is their small size so the dirt dried out fast. Felt like I had to water the plants every day.
