Your cart is empty.This is large display digital K-type Thermocouple Thermometer DM6801 with a high quality k-type thermocouple with stainless steel 3" insertion probe, which is good up to about 500 degree C Celsius or about 932 degree F Fahrenheit continuous use and short term up to 800 C or 1472 F. The diameter is 0.118 inch or 3.0 mm. The stainless steel probe is 3 inch (7.5cm) long and has a spring loaded strain relieve. It comes with a quality miniature K-type thermocouple connector which has blades made from compensating metal chromel / alumel. The thermocouple plug has a brass strain relieve. The wire has a fiber glass inner insulation and stainless steel outer braid. The digital K-type thermometer has a large, easy to read display, it features one K-type thermocouple input and runs on a normal 9V battery (included). This k-type thermometer and thermocouple probe can be used for a wide range of applications and is protected from most corrosive substances. This k-type thermocouple can be mounted in ovens, kilns or furnaces. It is also used to monitor machines and liquids in industrial processes. In metal working it can be used to measure some melted metals, for example lead in bullet casting and some melted aluminum.

This is a good thermocouple reader. My old eyes can see the display easily. The only problem is that the "on" switch tends to turn on while in my bag and run the battery out. It would be preferable that there was some means of preventing the device from turning on accidentally.

When I had a problem with the thin probe in my coffee roaster (temperature 450°F), I contacted the seller and they immediately sent, not one, but TWO replacements, both upgrades on the original probes.The new ones included a long needle that can be bent, and a durable, well-insulated mini probe that can fit into tight spaces. Both operate in temperatures up to 750 degrees F.I felt well-treated from the very start. Most companies on Amazon, I have found, are very prompt in responding to consumer messages and will bend over backwards to accomodate the smallest request.I encourage all who read this review always to contact the seller, instead of going straight to Amazon. You'll be glad you did, and possibly make a new friend or two!

Worked great for our application. After extensive use we did not observe any rusting which is exactly why we purchased this item.
