The best feature of this tool was the longer 30' leads that proved invaluable in working on larger trucks, which was our principal use of this tool in our shop. Other models of this tester with the normal 12' leads just wouldn't have worked for us. We were dealing with a complex circuit where the control side was at the top/front and the output side was at the underside/rear. So the 30' long leads meant we did not have any problem reaching both ends of the circuit for testing. The ability to inject current into the circuit/component makes this tool invaluable in the right situation. Injecting power at top end of wiring and finding it has no effect but powering component directly actuates the device proves good component but bad wiring. So used correctly, a time saver for certain. The voltmeter and ohm meter functions were basic and did work, but for precision work I would revert back to my high end multi meter . We otherwise did not use the tool in any of the other advanced features it is advertised to support... we have other processes and specialised instruments for those tasks. But if you need a power probe type of current inserting meter with long leads, this will not disappoint.

This tester can be used to check the easy stuff or chasing down a more complicated issue. I definitely have to use the handbook for a lot of things but a professional would probably know what to do without looking. Any mechanic would like having one of these.

I noticed my truck was a little sluggish to start and I wanted to check the battery. This tool made that a simple task. It was easy to use and has a fairly intuitive user interface. You do need to know a bit about automotive terms such as AGM, CCA, etc, as the manual is pretty basic and doesn't get deep into these things. However, if you're using this tester, you're probably already somewhat of a backyard mechanic. The screen was bright and easy to read and navigate and I got the (poor) results from my battery test in just a few minutes. Beyond checking your battery, this tool has a pile of features that I'm glad to have, though I hope I never have to use them! So far I'm very happy with this new addition to my toolbox, but I'll update my review as I get more use out of it, should I encounter anything that warrants it.

I got this KZYEE KM601 tester for my husband to use. We have a classic car that developed an electrical issue this past fall. For some reason, the battery would go dead after a few days of sitting. He couldn’t find the problem no matter how hard he tried and no matter how much he researched it on the internet. Once I got this tester, I thought that it would help him out. He said it was a little complicated to originally figure out properly as it has quite a few functions, but once he did, he was able to find the problem and finally fix it. He’s ecstatic! He loves this tester. He can’t wait to try out the other functions that it has. He said to give it a solid four stars. So far. He can’t wait to delve into it deeper as time goes on. Once he does, I’ll update this review.

Okay, let's look at this KZYEE KM601 Super Probe Circuit Tester. The KM601 is a robust all-in-one tool that combines a multimeter, oscilloscope, battery tester, fuel injector tester, relay tester, and much more. It can handle both 12V and 24V systems, making it ideal for a wide range of vehicles, from cars to trucks and even motorcycles. Though I really need only 12V. When I first tried it, I was quite impressed. The display is clear, and controls are intuitive. The color screen is large and easy to read, though it does suffer from some glare in bright sunlight. Despite this, the display is quite detailed, and I could easily access a variety of functions such as voltage checks, resistance measurements, and even oscilloscopes for voltage signals. I found the oscilloscope feature to be particularly useful when diagnosing electrical irregularities. It allowed me to see precise voltage changes over time, which was invaluable for analyzing the performance of components like fuel injectors or relays. The included accessories - such as the 30-foot cable and various probe tips - are great. The length of the cable means I can easily test components even when they are far from the vehicle's battery. The long cable allows me to comfortably sit inside the car while running diagnostics on the engine. However, the KZYEE KM601 isn't perfect. The device requires an external power source, typically from the car’s battery or a USB-C adapter. While this isn't a dealbreaker, it would have been nice if the tester had an internal battery for convenience. Another issue I encountered was with the USB-C port, which doesn't come with a cable, and I had to provide my own. Also, the provided clamps and alligator clips are a bit flimsy and feel like they might break after extensive use. For the price, I expected a sturdier set of connectors. Note that the tool isn’t designed for testing household voltage, which seems like an odd limitation considering it can measure AC signals in automotive systems. It’s something to keep in mind for those hoping to use it beyond vehicle repairs. Despite these drawbacks, the KZYEE KM601 has become an indispensable tool in my garage. This is a very comprehensive diagnostic tool for any 12 or 24 volt system. I’ve used it on vehicles but also on a 24v pallet stacker and it works great. Some of the features are a bit exaggerated, like it’s not really a full oscilloscope, but there are just so many of them it feels unfair to even mention it. Really, to master all the different tests this can perform would take time unless you’re a professional, and for most of us it’s way more tool than we could ever need. But it’s so nice knowing this can probably do the job if you need it.It does have a few minor hiccups. Softwareupdate/implementation is a hot mess. They really need to invest some time into cleaning that up. And it doesn’t have an internal battery so it does rely on the battery or the vehicle or system you’re working on. If that battery is dead, you’ll need to cobble together an external battery to plug into which is a bit of an unnecessary pain. It would have been a minor thing to include a AA battery compartment on this, and it’s unfortunate they didn’t bother.But overall, it’s a heck of a tool. If there’s a diagnostic you need to run chances are this can run it. It’s a nice tool to have when the electric gremlins show up and worth the price of admission.

When problems arise with your vehicle, you can just take it to the shop and spend a bunch of money or, if you have the time, ambition and the right tools, try diagnose and fix it yourself. This tester makes it easy to test fuses, relays, electrical components, your car battery etc.I tested my battery's health and performed the cranking and charging tests. My battery sometimes goes dead so I suspected it might need replacing but it tested out OK and my charging system also tested OK. It seems my issue is I drive short distances too often. My car's charging system doesn't have time to replace the juice I used to start the car before I stop and then restart it again and again. Eventually my battery doesn't have enough power to start the car. I installed a smart trickle charger under the hood so I can top the battery up once a week or so as needed.I also used the tester to test all of the fuses I can test in place as well as some I had to remove to test. I tested some relays as well which works well. I like that you can use this tester to power 12V devices like lights, fans etc to see if they have failed. The extra long cables make it easy to reach the opposite end of your car if needed. There are a number of other uses like testing continuity, resistance, voltage signals, fuel injectors etc which I will use if needed.This is a really handy tool. I'm glad I ordered it.

Finally, I have the opportunity to use and try this tool with a real car fix, that was performed in classic sport convertible with an electrical tailgate/brake issue that was hard to troubleshot until now. Using this tester, I could find out, confine and isolate the culprit: a corroded connector with defective insulation that was hidden in one section of the cable harness. This probe allowed me to test -little by little- cable sections for the lights until got the faulty device. So far seems well made, with a clear oversized screen display that allows better, precise and intuitive readings, especially when using its built-in oscilloscope capability, which -in my opinion- is the single best feature included with the tester that clearly stand-out from other diagnostic probes that I used before.Aside of the complete array of multiple functions that it is included with the tool, is very versatile, testing relays for example, and with a 30ft lead-cable is has more than enough length for most of the diagnostic applications that you can perform, no matter if it is in a full-size truck, an RV vehicle or compact sedan.The update of the unit is a little bit cumbersome, and the info provided in manufacturer’s website is not clear for some of the functions or updates. Clearly it can be better, and should be improved.Overall, although not cheap as its current price, if you can afford it, I think for those serious ‘DIY garage mechanics’, this is an excellent tool to have in your tool box (together with an ODB2 Diagnostics tablet to complement). With that combo, you can probably diagnose a great deal of car issues without resorting to get your car to the Dealer or Independent Mechanic Shop. This is a portable, compact, practical and very capable tool indeed so I recommend it.(Reviewed by Handyman)
