Ive compared this stove to other popular alcohol stoves- specifically the Lixada and Toaks alcohol stoves. It’s a great stove. The construction is similar to the Lixada and better than the Toaks. It uses a heavier weight titanium at a 50% weight penalty (Toaks is 20g, Kuvik is 30g) but is better constructed. The jet holes are better drilled and more evenly sized than Toaks. Also larger diameter than Toaks. This means it burns more fuel more quickly. In my own ‘garage testing’, Toaks boiled 500ml in 8min, 45s using about 27ml of heet. Kuvik boiled 500ml in 4min 45s using about 27ml of heet. So, only consideration is saving 10 grams of stove weight with the Toaks. Both stoves sat about 1-1/8” below pot. Also consider the kuvik is today about $6 less expensive. Lixada would be a good consideration if you wanted to load more heet for a larger ti pot (>30ml fuel). It will allow you to boil more, or cook more in a single burn. Overall the kuvik is a clear performer and highly recommended!

I put 20 ml of denatured alcohol in it and it burned for 6 and a half minutes. It’s small enough that you could use it as a shot glass too. Size comparison in my picture. Definitely not for simmering though, it’s a hot concentrated flame directly in the center. I used a 5 inch pot and some flame did get around the edges and up the sides but that’s probably because the flame with nothing on it was probably 8 inches high. Absolutely worth the price to get the best quality. I do wish it had something to snuff it out with but if you measure out the fuel you probably could let it burn down. The best way to put it out is going to depend on what you use for your pot stand. I plan on using it for camping and any power outages.

This has to be the lightest smallest and cutest of all burners. Perfect! At least for what I wanted.

Stable, easy to fill, easy to snuff out (I can recover unused fuel), durable, fairly efficient, I like it! Now figuring out a good pot stand to go with it. Prefer it to my tomcat and cat food can stoves.

I own a good number of alcohol stoves, both homemade as well as purchased. I have to say I have never seen one out out the strong flames that this one does. It seems like it would be hard for the wind to put it out, and I have paired it with an ultralight rollup titanium windscreen just in case.Being so thin and light it doesn't weigh you down, just throw it into your cup with a small bottle of alcohol.Add to that the thin material which makes it heat up and prime almost immediately and when you're done you just blow on it a few times and it's cool enough to touch. Also, it's easy to put out just by resting your cup on it.The only drawback I can find is that it can't support a cup or pot by itself, it needs some space between it and the pot. To this end I punched a few holes around the top edge of my windscreen and I poke a couple of pieces of stainless bicycle spoke through it and rest the pot on them. Problem fixed.Love this stove for its lightness and great flame. Worth every penny.
