Nobody is cutting through this bad mother trucker quickly. Yeah it’s heavy but that’s what makes it hard to cut. There seems to be a lot of guessing about how much it weighs so here is the definitive answer. 5ft chain: 8.5 pounds.

You just have to spend the extra money to get something decent. This is a very trustworthy lock. I have two of them and I use them to lock up my motorcycle. It would take a little bit of work to get through these. Couple that with the kryptonite floor mount lock that you can mount in your van or into concrete different bolts of course for vehicle mount.

It would be easier to cut the bike frame than it would be to cut this chain. This is a super beefy lock, it weighs an estimated 10 pounds. Definitely not something you would want to take with you on a long bike ride. The disc detainer lock adds a superior layer of security. It can't be picked without special tools & skills.

calzano perfetti! ho un 43 ho preso 43 una volta messi danno l'idea di protezione e robustezza. la scarpa rimane ben salda al piede/caviglia permettendo di cambiare marcia senza problemi e soprattutto di non rovinare la scarpa, non sono previste la punta in metallo e la protezione sul tallone ma cmq robuste

Il prodotto è ottimo. catenone super resistente con serratura blindata e chiave non duplicabile. è il secondo che prendo e stavolta ho preso la catena da 1,5 mt di lunghezza. è un po troppo lunga, per legare la bicicletta a degli oggetti fissati a terra è sufficiente quella da 1,2mt. Attenzione al peso, la robustezza ha come nota negativa il peso notevole. nel complesso la consiglio vivamente. con l'acquisto di questa catena si puo usufruire del programma assicurativo Kryptonite: se riescono a rubarvi la bicicletta aprendo la catena, vi ripagano la bici.

Good product, came as promised however since this was a used amazon verified product I expected more. Within 2 weeks of use, the lock mechanism would not work and would become stuck causing me to be late to work several times. One of my co-workers discovered that it needed graphite/WD-40 to oil the inside compartment so it wouldn't get unstuck. After using some graphite on the inside part it started working fine again.

Bought this chain about month ago And I have been using it on my new bmx bike I ride all around. I almost turned away from it due to complains I saw made about the locking mechanism jamming. I haven't had even the slightest sign of a lock jam. Although cylinder locks are a bit tricking in locking and unlocking if you do not insert the key fully and offset the cylinders. I bought the five foot chain its a bit heavy (probably around ten pounds) but I wanted to make sure I could fully lock my front tire and rear and frame to any post. Not even two weeks in to using it on my new bike, it already payed for it self . I was at the local library , locked up next to some pretty beat up bikes and a hr late I hear a guy saying they stole his bike, The nylon on my chain had a slash and that was all. So I am very pleased and confidant in this lock , would def recoment in to anyone who is in need of a medium to a high security lock.

バイク乗り換えに伴い購入しましたが 一週間程使用後に突然動きが渋くなり バイクから外した状態で何度か動かしたところ ロックした状態で外れなくなり使用不能になりました いろいろググってみたところこのメーカーの製品はそういう事態が多いようです 幸いバイクから外していたので事なきを得ましたが 盗人も苦労するであろうセキュリティレベルの高いロックがバイクにかかった状態でトラブってしまうと危うく数日間通勤不能になるところでした その後アマゾンに返品依頼をしたところ2日ほどで返金を受けていただきました それは評価致します 交換のみしか受け付けられないとなるとまぁ困ったもんですので 同じトラブルが起きない保証はありませんので 他メーカーの製品に買いなおしました

Heavy, threatening. I assume it's working since I can't find evidence for even botched attempts to break it. Only four stars because the key and locking mechanism are a little futzy. You know how people use the expression, "with Swiss clock-like precision"? Yeah, this isn't like that.

So, here's how I came to be the owner of this behemoth of a lock.For years I just used a cable combination lock. Then I had a really awsome old Trek 950 mountain bike ripped off and went to a u lock and cable combo for my around town bike. Those systems work well enough to keep your wheels and frame secure. That is, if its just an older middle of the road type bike. So, your bike cost a thousand bucks or more? Dude, every scumbag in town is going to be eyeing your bike after you lock it and walk away...buy this lock. And a u lock. :)A note on seats. Make sure that you have a quick release on your seat and take it into the coffee shop or lecture hall or it won't be there when you return.Meanwhile back to this lock. I had seen this and knew it was HEAVY but finally bought this as the clincher on days when I'm leaving an expensive bike unattended. The chain is case hardened and almost impossible to bolt cutter since the links are made of square stock. Okay, obviously if a thief really wants the bike they could get it with a cutting torch.Generally speaking nobody will bother to get through this chain. If I scared you and you want the best, look at the New York Kryptonite.
