Once you have removed the old piece, use a flat edge/razor to scrape off any old sealant. It says not to use sealant with this and I did not.Get a tennis ball and olive oil. Apply some olive oil around the gasket. Line up the plastic prongs with the hole in the toilet. Use a tennis ball to push the gasket down and twist so the prongs “lock” under the whole. And that’s it! Once we read someone else review and realized you had to twist slightly, it was simple.This saved us who knows how much to get a plumber or even a handy man out to fix it! You can do it!Hope this helps!

These did the job to stop my leaky toilets. I though installation was going to be quick and easy, but one fought me to no end, I don't know if the valve is to blame or the toilet itself, but it didn't want to push down low enough to engage with all three wings, I eventually got it fortunately. The other one went in exactly as I expected, takes some force, but much quicker than more typical flush valves on two piece toilets.Overall if you need it you need it, just beware it might not go back in nearly as easy as the old one comes out.

Gaskets on the toilet were both rotten, so bought this whole kit. A bit difficult to compress the thick bottom gasket and twist to lock at the same time, but got ‘er done. Nothing drips/leaks anymore, & saved a $100 plumber service charge I bet. I would recommend this for the Koehler one piece toilets.
