The reason why I bought this bit was that I had to fix a broken cleaver handle made by Dexter. I couldn’t drill through even with my cobalt bit doused with cutting oil. The steel was forged so hard it destroyed the point of my center punch. Then comes this solid carbide bit, give it two drops of cutting oil and it eases its way through the tough blade. This bit represents American Quality: When the drilling gets tough, the tough keeps on drilling.

I had a broken tap stuck in the side of my scroll chuck, this bit made quick work of clearing out the hardened steel tap. I ruined several other bits I had on hand but as a woodworker I don't have much that can cut steel well. This thing was like drilling a hole in wood. I will be buying Kodiak bits in the future for all my projects. Really great quality drill bit.

I bought this to drill through a 1/8 titanium drill bit that broke in a bolt i was trying to remove. It did not work. It could not cut through the bit. Would only get hot.

It cut and drilled for about 3/4” of 1-1/2” I needed it to bulled out with using oil

Broke a 1/8” drill bit off deep in a hardened bolt that I was drilling out. The bolt was broken off and stuck in a aluminum casting. I tried every type of drill bit I had to drill out the broken drill bit including some masonry bits which did work a little at first. Then I ordered this carbide bit. It cuts right through everything. It turns metal into dust. It’s solid carbide and you can feel it when you hold the bit. It feels like a 10lb weight compared to even high moly or colbalt bits. I never leave reviews for any of my purchases, because I have been underwhelmed by most. This is Best purchase I’ve made. Highly recommend this bit.

I dont do this for a living, but I know a good product when I see it. Also, I have zero affiliation with Kodiak.I needed to drill T-Posts, about 20 of them. Looking on line this type of carbide fluted bit is recommended.Drilled 20 t-posts, took about twice as long as one would make a hole in a 2 by 4 with a wood bit. Thats a post that was already in ground with a cordless drill.I did use a ton of drill oil but the bit looks like I've never touched it. Couldnt be happier.I would have like the chucj side to not be totally round as it slipped a few times, but thats nitpicking.

I used this bit to drill through 3/8" solid steel and 3/16" square steel tube. It work very well at slow speeds and with some oil. Not sure how long it will last but it's survived 6 holes so far
