On 2007 Commander (v6) it has not improved MPG at all during initial 4k miles. Does definitely improve higher RPM performance (shifts much smoother at high RPM and handles heavy throttle better) and mildly improves throttle response at low RPM. Instructions suck as others have mentioned but good quality otherwise

I've had multiple CAI's on different cars and this is the first one I actually had to put together out of the box, which I find ridiculous. Also the instructions were uniform for two cars, however my commander is not the same as a grand cherokee

Not impressed. No significant difference in mileage. Also, the emissions hose or crankcase hose can not be connected to K&N Intake system without getting kinked in my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, due to the new location of this connection vs. stock intake.

After i put this thing on i could tell an immediate boost in throttle response. I removed a star because this instructions were the worst thing i have ever seen. I practicly had to figure out where the parts went together. Overall im pleased with my purchase though.

I installed the kit the other night and have driven it a little. Installation was pretty straight forward even though the instructions aren't very good. Here are my findings so far.Quality: Pretty nice kit, the heat shield is powder coated steel. The tube is plastic similar to the stock tubing.Power: I was not expecting anything noticeable but there is a real gain. Part of this is probably throttle response which is greatly improved.Sound: At idle there is a pretty noticeable sucking sound at the filter. On the throttle there is very little difference in sound from stock.Mileage: Don't know yet? Seems to be not affected either way.So, would I buy this kit for the 3.7? Yes, mostly for the improved throttle response when driving aggressively.
