Our 11 year old wore these bike shorts under his pants. On longer bike rides he usually complains of chaffing and soreness, but with these padded shorts it was not a problem. He was much more comfortable and a had a good ride. No friction or sore bum for this kid. Five stars.

At the very top, the biker shorts are about 1 foot wide when unstretched. I see on the tag a suggested user height of 160 cm or 5 ft 3 in. The tag also tells me that the fabric is made of 80% nylon and 20% spandex, which indeed allows for a lot of stretch. On the reverse of the tag, I found the care instructions. I can machine wash it in cold water, but I should avoid bleach, dry cleaning, and tumble drying. To be on the safe side, I hand wash them and lay them flat to dry. The shorts have padding in the groin area and beyond, though I'm not sure what material the padding is made of. It feels like a gel-like substance, not foam. Inside the shorts, there's a small pocket to store keys or similar items. On the outside, there's another pocket on the left side, which I measured to be about 4 ⅝ inches wide. I also noticed that the shorts dry quickly.

This were actually the right size for my almost nine year old son. The looked good and didn't bunch up or have excessive padding compared to the size of the shorts. He found them comfortable to wear and use, but the legs could use some grippy material to hold the legs in place, but there was really no issue with the legs riding up. I did think the stitching looks good, and there were no areas that caused any chafing during his usage, and the quality of the seams was as good as my name-brand cycling shorts. A nice feature of these shorts is that they have a small hidden internal pocket that would be perfect for keys, or some cash. I recommend these if you are looking for a great pair of kids cycling shorts.

They're as well made as any of my shorts. The padding is nice, and they feel pretty durable too.

I got these for my daughter to wear on our family bike rides. She loves them. The shorts are made of a nice airy fabric, and the workmanship is very nice. The sizing is exactly as described, and exactly as you would expect. The padding in the seat of the shorts should help alleviate any sore spots from the seat.

I love cycling, but it is hard to justify being away from my family for longer rides. But now that my kids are growing up and my youngest daughter can go on longer rides, we have been going further and longer. The last few times, she mentioned how sore she had been after our rides, so I told her about padded biking shorts and ordered these for her. They fit perfectly and have greatly improved her comfort on our longer rides. Getting this has also served as a buy-in for her because she has "Real" biking shorts like her dad! I think I have her hooked!
