Obviously this is trying to clone an SM** and does a very good job at it. Looks are almost identical, weight is solid, all metal and heavy like the SM. Best of all, it sounds like one too. I need a mic to send out as a loaner without worries. This does the trick.

It got here on time. It sounds ok, but not as good as a cheaper one that I bought last week. But, it will make a good backup mike. The mike holder is too small for the mike, but that’s ok because I have an Electrovoice mike that it fits perfectly.

I had to write a review for these. I'm a aduio engineer. Every year I need one new vocal microphone to my work with some research. I found this perrycom microphone is ranking NO1 new released from New releases in Vocal Dynamic microphone by Amazon Hot New releases. It's said be used to singing and karaoke fpr microphone with on/off switch on it. There're several microphones i have, like brand shure sm58s, Behringer XM8500, 1800S and others karaoke microphones. I did little research to them, it sounds very similar with a little less output to Shure but more clear than Beheringer's both, great for the price. This is a fairly typocal dynamic mic with my little engineering background experience.- Decent background noise rejection- Supper cardioid pattern from Polar diagram chart.- Frequency response chart is reasonable and clear. Very similar to Shure's SM58.1. Shure is 50 to 15000HZ2. Perrycom is 80 to 15000HZ- Build in spherical wind and pop filter.- Good quality to durable Zinc die cast housing, metal black ball grille and golden XLR connector pin to ensure long life.It's really a good quality product especilly for the low price what i faced so far.

sound quality from this mic is every bit as good as shure sm48 at a fraction of the cost. I do recommend using a quality cable with it though, as it definitely has most impact on performance!
