This is one of those products you don’t really realize you need until you get it. These two kayaks have been up against my house for three years. Every time I go to use them I have to make sure there’s no bugs in them which they’re always are. Then I have to rinse them out. They just get filthy. I put them in a different spot so that they wouldn’t get hit by rain. The same thing happened. There really was no other place to put them except for on a rack so I chose this one. I’m very very happy with it. It’s very stable and it was very easy to put the kayaks on. I have one additional river kayak that isn’t in the pictures I uploaded, but that easily fits on top. The rack comes with bungee cords of different sizes to hold your kayak in place from level to level and I haven’t figured out what the smaller ones are for, but I’ve used them to hold the seats closed. These aren’t the most expensive kayaks so that really kind of means are heavier and this rack has no problem with them. All three of them are pretty heavy. You can anchor this rack, but I don’t really feel like I have to. It’s very stable on its own. If you have small kids or animals that are running past it all the time then I might consider anchoring it but if you’re putting it in a place where it won’t be knocked into by kids or animals, I would say you could put it anywhere. it fits three kayaks which is the amount I have so that worked out! It was really easy to put together and that’s coming from someone who usually has trouble with stuff like that.It was definitely easy to flip the kayaks on to the rack. It is a super heavy duty piece of equipment for a pretty good price. It’s covered with a non corrosive paint so it won’t rust. I’m happy with this not only because it’s a better way to store my boats but also because I can grow grass where these used to be. Of course not having to rinse bugs out of them every time I use them is a big plus!I definitely am pleased with this kayak rack and recommend it if you’re looking for one.

This feels like a sturdy kayak and paddleboard rack. I really like the height - honestly, do you really have the strength to lift a heavy kayak really really high up? No, you don't. I could get the kayak onto the top part of the rack very easily all by myself. The easiest maneuver is to tip a kayak onto it and then slide it on. The metal bar is covered with these rubber pads that are stuck on with adhesive - I'm satisfied that these are enough for now for my kayaks and paddleboard and I won't be looking at pool noodles at this point. The metal feels really solid. The base feels stable. It took me a moment to figure out how to do the bungee cords as they're different lengths - but that only took a moment and I took a photo for anyone that needs it. If you will be experiencing wind, I recommend additional tie-downs for that weather event. It takes about an hour to put together. I recommend laying out all the parts and where they will go based on the diagram. The instructions were not that hard to follow or figure out. When installing the holder bars for the kayaks, the screws were a little more difficult to tighten, but that's about it. Make sure to remember to not overtighten everything.I like that you can still access the kayaks/paddleboards to secure them with whatever locking method of choice. I have a a variety of locking chains that are connected to an immovable object....and yes, I need to wash my stuff - that's the next project now that they're nicely put away.

It took a little bit to get it all assembled but it was well worth it. I decided to do something with my kayaks and initially went with one of the pully systems. It was OK, but I like this rack way better. You can move it around after getting it assembled which was an added bonus I hadn't anticipated. With the pulley systems, while they do get the kayaks out of the way, installation is kind of complicated with the process of getting a ladder, finding a good anchor point, and working over your head. When you go to actually use it it takes some coordination to get the kayak up. With this rack you easily get the kayak in place immediately.Building the rack isn't too tough and the convenience is unparalleled. This is the way to go.

I have really enjoyed this kayak rack. It holds all three of my kayaks well, and it’s surprisingly sturdy for how light it is. With the exception of a few cap pieces that are not load-bearing, there are no plastic parts, so I expect this to be quite durable. Finish on all the metal pieces was flawless—there wasn’t a scratch or dent anywhere. It was also snap to put together with one person. Note that you’ll need your own tools for assembly. I suggest a 13mm socket wrench for the nut and either a 13mm wrench, a crescent wrench, or a set of pliers to hold the bolt head in place. One thing I did find odd was that no washers were provided. That’s fine, but it means you need to be extra careful not to overtighten bolts/nuts, because you’ll damage the beams if you do. The nuts appear to be threaded with blue loctite to prevent them from coming loose. The metal pieces are lighter than I was expecting, and I suppose time will tell to what degree that impacts longevity. But so far, this rack definitely fits the bill for me.

The pictures make this rack seem like its 6 ft tall but its actually just over 4 ft. The rack is pretty heavy duty and comes with good quality bolts. When you tighten the bolts they will bend the metal, be careful not to over tighten because the bolts can bend the metal enough to weaken the metal parts. The instructions aren't real clear which way the uprights face.WARM TIP- the large openings on the uprights should face outward. The rack should be plenty strong enough to hold any kayaks you have.
