I love these string so much, they have been my go to for the past few years. You open em up, smell that beautiful scent of earthy bronze, and put these bad boys on your strings and play. They sound so warm and vibrant, and have such a great feel in between your fingers. It isnt too soft and it has just the right amount of crunch. I dont exactly know how to describe it but these strings are amazing. I highly recommend them.

Use them for a martin. Reliable product for a few decades now. Never really thought competitors did a better job in the world of acoustic guitars.

I know people who swear by these. I’ve tried them a few times on a couple guitars. I often have issues with my low E going dead before my other strings and I’m fairly certain it’s because I like to play in a few different tunings and I often go back and forth between standard and drop d. So the low E is getting tuned up and down enough that I’ve accepted I just have to change strings more often until I can afford to acquire a couple more guitars that I can just keep in the various tunings I play in frequently, which is likely going to be a while. As far as these are concerned, the JP PB mediums, I neither liked or disliked them much. I’m giving a four star rating because I think they are as good as most and probably better than some. But they were not my favorite. For what it’s worth, I preferred Martin SP PB mediums to these. My low E went dead really fast, in less than a week and I had only retuned a few times. I tried the JP 80/20 mediums on the same guitar. Different. I actually liked the sound a lot (better than the ones I’m reviewing), but the high G string broke after less than two weeks. In the last three years I’ve only broken one other string, and it was after they were a month old.Anyway, my advice would be give these a shot and see what you think for yourself. String preferences are so subjective. You might love them or you might find them just okay like me.

I tried these a few years ago and have stuck with them ever since. I've also tried Elixir's with similar gage and coating for a few changes, but came back to these. I am using them on a 2001 Guild D55 which I bought in very, very used condition - but the sound is unbelievable with these John Pearse mediums. I highly recommend these for dreadnought play. For my playing habits, I replace about every 4-6 weeks - and thats after many hours of hard playing - these things don't die easy. When you strike the chord on a bright new set, you'll draw a lot of attention - people will be trying to figure out what makes your sound so rich. Give'em a shot.

The best acoustic strings I've ever tried. After a couple days they settle in with this beautiful warm, woody sound. They feel more comfortable than other strings. They feel soft and super easy to play. Lows are rumbling and deep. Mids are punchy. Highs are fat and sweet, not tinny or overly bright. Using these on my Gibson J15 and they feel like they're bringing out the natural beauty of the sound of this guitar. Been using D'addarios forever. D'addarios are fine strings, but these seem warmer and nicer-sounding. Will likely stick with these.

Really like these strings. Really, I'm a player who likes my worn-in strings. I like my acoustics to have a bit more response in the bass and not so much of the icepick high end. When I finally broke a couple strings, I had to give in, and I ended up going for these after hearing that they were the preferred choice of Elliott Smith. They work equally well for a variety of styles, and I appreciate the even response. Now, these are a bit thicker, so I ended up tuning a step down to avoid both breaking a string and the extra strain on the neck. They sound great, and I like that I can tune to D and not get floppy strings. For E, that's what a capo is for.Really can't go wrong with these strings.

Love JP! Got these recommended to me by a guy who has at least 4 or 5 instruments worth 30 plus grand and god knows how many other super nice ones. They are wonderful strings. Sound great and last a super long time. Don't have the nice bass of bluegrass strings or the cut of elixirs, but they are extremely well balanced all around. And most of all, these will last 2 or 3 times as long as others. They deteriorate so slow you don't really realize it's happening until you've gone waaaay to long without changing them. These are the best bang for your buck.

For the product I leave a lot of stars for it because it is a very high quality string. This is my first time trying this brand and I am so pleased with the quality. I think the sound of these strings for my guitar is not the best fit though, for the tone I am trying to get out of it (music nerd stuff). The strings really bring the mids out of the guitar with a more Mild tone that provides good sustain and a nice warm sound. The guitar I put them on has a maple back and sides, maple being good a reproducing treble sounds. And this guitar soars on treble and mids. Not so much with bass. If it were a primarily basswood (mahogony, rosewood, etc) guitar I guess the strings would sound great on the guitar and I'd continue using them. But as it is I've lost that High end awesome tone that made me stop using coated strings because they reproduced less of it. So I was using plain non coated strings before of a different brand and just heard these and their quality. Well I found out the quality of these is GREAT, but just not the reproducing the tone i want for this one guitar. I would try them again on my other acoustic for sure. If you like the Milder tones and Warmth, etc these are a sure bet!
