Was surprised by weight... very hefty in this age of plastics... I've only used for 3 weeks but seem repeatable and accurate... Now saying this I'm building spaceship parts either

Let's start with the good: These are fantastic quality digital vernier calipers that provide fast, easy to read, and accurate measurements. They are in-line with other calipers that I have of similar price points and all tests point towards them being as accurate as any others. The build quality is what you would expect with no play or slop at all. I really like the 6-inch form factor. The jaws are smooth and free from and imperfections. The case is a must and provides a secure and safe fit.The not so great comes down to the adjustment, or lack of. A lot of my caliper use involves taking measurements where this isn't as necessary but when it comes to setting the calipers to a known dimension you need some sort of fine adjustment, usually in the form of a knurling knob or thumb screw. does have some textured grooves where a knob might be but it falls very short and is a curious omission from an otherwise well built and designed product.Overall great build, quality, and accuracy, with one major design shortcoming. If you can look past that and work around it, then I recommend this item.

I use a caliper at work all the time and have wanted a digital version for my mechanical home projects for a while. This Skysummr caliper is a terrific tool! The build quality is as good or better than any caliper I've ever used. It's heavy in a really good way. All of the measuring surfaces are milled perfectly and you receive the same measurement regardless of where you grab the part with the caliper. I first checked my 1-2-3 setup blocks to see how accurate this was. It came in exactly right on every side. The screen is very easy to read when taking measurements and the one button switch from Metric to Imperial is very useful. The biggest downside is the Absolute/Incremental/Power button. To choose any of these you need to hold down that button and release it as soon as you see the setting you want. This is a little tricky since it scrolls through the three options pretty quickly. Most of my measurements are Absolutes so it's not a big detractor in my book, but it could be annoying if you were going back and forth often. I did find that letting it go through all of the options once or twice before selecting what I wanted helped with my accuracy in timing. There is also an auto-off feature which my work calipers don't have and I really appreciate. If you set this down for a few minutes it'll turn itself off for you and not kill the battery.Speaking of battery, this uses a CR2032 button battery. The exact same one that's in my digital scale and my car's key fob. The battery is located under the "IP67" logo that is screwed down. The tool comes with a spare battery and even a mini screw driver that's needed to change it. I thought that was a nice touch. The IP67 rating on this caliper is important if you use a metal lathe. That was likely the intent since it clearly has "Coolent Proof" printed on the tool. Metal cutting cooling fluid ruined my old analog caliper. Well maybe my carelessness contributed too, but this new caliper should do much better. The included case holds everything together perfectly. The tool, battery and screw driver all have their own place. You could easily fit 4 batteries in there if you're a power user, but one spare is plenty for me on any project since it has an auto-off feature.Overall I'm really pleased with this tool.

Nothing to dislike about this caliper; it even came with an extra battery and the tiny screwdriver needed to replace it. I've only had it a few days so can't attest to how long the battery lasts, but since it takes a rather thick lithium CR2032 cell, and it is only driving a LCD screen, I would think it will last a long time. Nice that it uses such a standard size battery so no worries in finding more in the future. The caliper itself was considerably heavier that I was expecting. It's all metal construction is obvious and I expect that means it will hold up to lots of use (and some abuse). Like most calipers it can take measurements outside, inside and depth, and did that accurately. The controls are obvious, with a dedicated button for switching the scale between inches and millimeters. Its bright blue case protects it, as well as making it easier to locate in my somewhat cluttered shop. Perhaps the case is a bit oversized and not up to the quality of the calipers themself, so if I was to suggest an improvement, it would be to provide a better and slimer case. Something up to the quality of the tool it contains.

The Skysummr IP67 Waterproof 6” Electronic Vernier Digital Caliper in Stainless Steel is a fine instrument. It will measure from 0 to just over 6 inches in 10,000s of an inch increments (6.0600” or 153.92mm).It switches from inches to millimeters with the press of a button. It’s solid stainless steel and has a quality feel to it - a well made tool. The large LCD screen (1.25”x0.5”) is very clear and easy to read. The caliper will give you a reading for absolute origin, as well as incremental measurements. It measures inside diameter, outside diameter, depth, and step.I’ve tested this caliper for accuracy against a couple of other calipers that I have, and this caliper appears to be spot on with accuracy. With its IP67 protection level, it can be used in harsh environments that contain water, coolant, oil, or dust.It comes in a plastic case, and includes a mini screwdriver for changing the battery (it also includes a spare battery).
