By simply adjusting the clamp, you can decide how much sway control is exerted on the trailer. The ReCurve R3 will distribute the weight of your trailer across the axles of the tow vehicle and provide as much sway control as you choose. Or, turn the sway control completely off in dangerous or icy road conditions. Its top-loading spring bars give it more ground clearance than other hitches, and the streamlined design makes the hitch and the trailer move as one, while creating a sleek look. The R3 Weight Distributing Hitch Kit is constructed of heavy-duty steel and has a 6,000 lb. gross trailer weight rating. Includes a 2-inch hitch ball with an 8,000 lb. rating.

I can't review it highly enough. I was towing in a rainstorm and my trailer went through a massive puddle. I'm very certain without this I would have had some massive fishtailing, as I felt the trailer start to pull. Immediately, it went back to normal. You won't regret purchasing it, but you will need to watch some YouTube videos to get it set up correctly. It's not incredibly tricky, but it's not fool proof as you could accidentally set it up/ attach it incorrectly. Directions aren't the most transparent.

comes with 2 5/16" ball, not 2" as shown on amazon and on outside of box. Contacting distributor,"Camco manufacturing" is a waste of time. would not talk to customer or return calls. ball is not field replaceable.

I installed this hitch on my 13 Jeep Rubicon to pull a Rpod 190, and it works great. It takes a few tries to adjust correctly, but spend the time to make it right and you will get great results. Also extremely easy to hook up and unhook. I won't tow without it again!

Have three of theee now and use them to triple tow with two bumper pulls, they don’t hang down and drag, super easy to hook up as everything installs from top side, the tool to set the torsions is awesome and doesn’t sting your hands when it clicks in like normal pipe on the other style.The sway control works well, just wish it had little less free play as it work much better.

Installation instructions could have been better detailed. Did not get set up correctly following instructions and had to go to service provider to adjust properly. Very good product though…kept my travel trailer tracking well and straight even when passed by semi-trailers going well over speed limit. Made me feel comfy driving. Good job Camco! Tech support before purchase was excellent.

After installing the R3 I tow with confidence, my trailer stays inline even at higher speeds. This is a great product easy to install and easier to operate with its top load design. Being handicap this was key when looking for a weight distribution and sway control setup. I raise the jack which intern lift the tow bars to near perfect position that in most cases I can connect without the tool. The top load design eliminates ground clearance issues for compact or mid size SUV’s. I was traveling in a rain storm and hit a puddle of water in the road and the driver side left front wheel hydroplaned pulling my truck abruptly to the left which could have been disastrous but the Recurve R3 kept my trailer inline and under control. This the perfect 2 in 1 product that preforms great and is cost effective.

Well it did the job! While driving over a mountain in a downpour and hydroplaning, it kept the trailer right behind me. I had no time to be checking “in the review mirror.” I was pulling an 18’ Jayco with a Honda Pilot. I had it installed by a professional, worth every penny. Hope this helps!
