I wanted to say that this hitch did the trick for levelling the load for my 5'x12' cargo trailer. It's the lightest one in this class of tow bars that I could find on Amazon for the amount of anticipated tongue weight. It's priced decently & a great value for the smaller loads.Hooked up to my 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. It worked perfectly for the 1500+km trip we needed to make.We had a nice comfortable ride pulling close to 1 1/2ton of trailer and gear.Would recommend for smaller load levelling needs.May consider the sway bar option in the future.

Likes: works well, well made, heavy duty.Dislikes: needed to buy big wrenches (love it), nuts and bolts require a strong back to securely snug down, instruction manual was not very clear on some aspects of installation, company suggested videos that weren't much more help than manual.

The hitch worked as advertised. It took me about an 1.5 hour to get it all set up as the directions are ok but not the best. I would recommend watching a few youtube videos on how to install and set it up before as I found it useful having a rough idea before hand about how to set it up. The area that I think the instructions lacked in was in giving information on how to adjust the hitch if it's not distributing the load correctly; ie do you need to add more chainlinks or adjust the tilt on the head to correct something. Still all in all it was a relatively easy thing to set up and work great once it was set up correctly. The first time using this hitching it was very winding and the rv trailer didn't seem to sway and just sat right behind the tow vehicle.

We've now towed our 3000lb camper with my minivan using this weight distribution kit twice, and we can definitely tell a difference! The back end of my minivan doesn't sag, and the front end (where my braking and acceleration power sits) stays where it should. The bars with the chains that connect the hitch to the camper are a little tricky to install each time--you have to turn the bar almost parallel with the bumper of the minivan to ensure it's in a good position before you really ram the bars into their posts on the hitch, and it takes a good bit of momentum; however, once they're installed, they aren't going anywhere. And I feel a lot safer with more of the weight distributed towards the front end of my front-wheel drive vehicle.

Excellent installation instructions and works perfectly. My Nissan Pathfinder was down 6" at the back and the front up 2", after the hitch install the back was down 1/2" and front 1/4". I put pieces of stainless steel under the bolt securing the bracket to the trailer since the bolt would go through the aluminium otherwise. This hitch is one of the few made for a 600lb tongue weight and doesn't require butchering your trailer for an install. Will not tow a load again without this hitch.

Ok I'm impressed by the quality of this hitch! This is the cheapest weight distribution I could find so I was a little skeptical but I'm not disappointed!PROs:- Tension bars are easy to insert and remove- The hitch fit perfectly in my receiver. Not too tight nor too loose.- Very heavy duty- Good quality finish, I think it will last a while!- They supply a spacer ring if you have a 1" shank for your receiver ballCONs:- It's quite heavy, the whole setup must weight around 70-80 pounds- The upper angle nut is a little tough to adjustAlso on a side note, you will need some big socket adapters for the bolts and nuts on this hitch. There is some assembly and adjustment required when doing the initial setup.

The hitch and springs are very good quality and built to last. The problem with this particular version (600 lb tongue weight) is that the ball mount and shank are not matched to the springs. The ball mount and shank is the same heavy duty equipment that is used with springs of much higher weight rating. The shank is solid steel, and together with the ball mount, weigh 40 lbs. The total weight with springs and all hardware is 80 lbs. This is a lot of unnecessary weight to have to handle every time you want to hook up the trailer... and a lot of extra tongue weight that then has to be distributed by the springs. In comparison, the total weight of a slightly lighter duty system (500 lb tongue weight) weighs only 50 lbs, including springs and all hardware. My trailer is 3700 lbs with a TW of 400. I bought the 600 lb load distribution unit to have a margin of safety in case I had extra loads in the front of the trailer or rear of the tow vehicle. But now I wish I had gone with the 500 lb unit. I still would have had a margin of safety, but in a much more manageable size.

I bought this after I had gotten prices on ones at the RV stores. Expensive, and having it installed made it more than I wanted to spend. I got some suggestions from other RVer's on line, bought this one and installed it myself. (and I'm a woman). It works great and is very good quality. Would recommend to others Ready to.go in the Spring.

This is a heavy setup. The shank that ships with it doesn't have much drop or rise, so if you need that, order just the hitch without the shank. And get the shank separate. I ended up getting the Curt Manufacturing 17123 Adj Hitch Bar 9 In X 7 In With 10 1/2 In Rise from Warehouse deals.Anyway, the setup itself is pretty easy. It's getting everything set for the right height and angle that takes a little time. I took my time and it was probably and hour or so to get it out of the box, make the measurements, hook it up, unhook it, readjust the settings, then rehook it up again. When driving it does make quite a difference in the tow. There's still some bouncing over dips and bumps, but nothing like towing without it.I'd give it 5 stars, but I think it's pretty lame not to include the ball in this setup. So it's a 4 star on principle.

This load equalizer is very well designed, fabricated & packaged. The instructions are very well written for easy setup. The packaging was a double walled box inside another double wall box with high density foam inserts & fastened with heavy duty staples. Some of the earlier reviews mentioned the flimsy packaging. I will be taking this setup with a camper over the road in July & will report back.Just got back from a 1,300 mile trip with my camper & minivan. Works great. Should have purchased it long ago. No more bucking bronco!

Good hitch, easy to attach/detatch the spring bars. The clamps that attatch to the trailer frame could be improved. On the first set it was very difficult to fully seat the pivoting bar far enough into the U-shaped seat to insert the retaining clip, as the bar was offset to the side. Camco replaced them very willingly, and second set, though still misaligned, fully seats.

I bought this for use with our camper. The hitch does what it should do, and was easy to assemble and install. No complaints and I would recommend. What really got my attention though was the support from Camco/Eaz Lift.My package arrived damaged and missing parts. The hitch was not damaged, just the box was torn wide open. Not sure what UPS was thinking even leaving it at my house.Anyway, rather that pay a huge shipping fee to return for a replacement, I just called Camco.Even though the product was shipped from some supplier who really should have been responsible for the damage, Camco was very helpful, apologetic, and they overnighted me replacement parts for no cost. That is a company that gets my repeat business.
