Great concept. Mediocre execution.The lightweight stainless steel bowls have liquid measurement markings indicating milliliters and not US liquid ounces. The bowls themselves are small. One bowl is a single serving lettuce salad.The plastic bottom and top intended are to encapsulate the stainless bowl are constructed of a light duty reuseable plastic.I would prefer to see a larger capacity stainless bowl marked with fluid ounces and a heavier duty food safe plastic bottom and top. As is leaves me feeling that the price point exceeds practically.

I was disappointed when these iced salad bowls arrived. First, the plastic is not very thick. It appears that they will crack easily. They are advertised as something you can use at parties. I imagined fitting a head or two of lettuce in the bowls to serve company. I thought l would be able to put a bowl of potato salad or fruit salad out for a crowd and they would remain cool. The size of the bowls however, are extremely small. I would only be able to use each for one serving; most certainly not a party. I would not have gotten these had l realized what l was getting for my money. I do not recommend them if you are planning on using them for an event.

These are great for many different uses, but they are on the thin side so they aren't as sturdy. Both the plastic and the metal bowls are pretty thin but the upside to this is that it cools very quickly. They are a good size for me because I am not a fan of bulky things. I personally like to use this for fruit and yogurt or fruit dip when I am relaxing.

Nice quality salad bowl set that is versatile in use and great for entertaining. It is as advertised and does a nice job of keeping things cold. Perfect for outdoor events, BBQs, camping, picnics and more, this set can be used for variety of occasions and would make a great addition to any event. Compact enough to transport easily, this set is also good for potlucks and other outings. It's a nice, convenient set to have around for entertaining and makes a practical gift for any occasion.

I agree with some others about the size being smaller. But I think this is a great size for dips, salsa, etc. And we also make pizzas at our gatherings and toppings sit out. This will be a great size for the shredded cheese. I'm very good with this size. For the items mentioned, I would not want them any larger.It would be nice if they also made a larger set.The cover is great to keep the food covered while in the frig, waiting for the party to start or from anything falling in while out on the counter. Keeps the food fresher. And of course, the bugs! No one likes seeing a fly in the food!Since a reviewer was kind to give the warning about not stacking them without placing paper towels or wax paper in between, to prevent them from getting stuck, I thank you. I did that after I washed them. They seems like they'll serve my needs well. Some food, you just need to keep on ice.

These are just so handy! Anything you want to keep chilled while serving, such as fresh fruit, cold desserts, mayo-based salads such as potato salad, tuna salad, coleslaw, even lettuce salads will stay nice and cool for hours.Some of the extras this set features are the fact that the bowls are stainless steel, they are marked with quantity indicators, there are lids included, and what's really nice is that there are drain slots in the front, so if you DO want to drain some water off, you can simply pick up the entire assembled set and tilt it to drain excess water. The bowl holds about 1 1/2 quarts of food.I did find the lid a bit hard to pick up, as the plasic is so smooth it's sort of slippery, but I press against it when draining water, and then I use two hands if I want to remove and place the lid somewhere.
