I have a counter top ice maker that I use for making extra ice while entertaining. Once put into the freezer, it generally all sticks together. This ice chopper is made of hard stainless steel, like good cutlery. This design chops the ice apart easily, and is big enough to do the job without being heavy.

I have a refrigerator that’s only two years old and of course we all know that things these days are not necessarily made to last not even for 10 years like they should. That being said I get this giant slab of ice growing in just a couple of weeks it’s almost an inch thick on the bottom of my freezer. There’s no hole for any melted water to drain like the old freezers had, and I also think that the reason I’ve is accumulating is that the seal, no matter how large it appears to be, is not necessarily sealing properly allowing in warm air and thus condensation and the glacier at the bottom of my freezer. I used to take a screwdriver to it to chip away at it and break it out but that took a long time and was really messy and I didn’t want to damage my freezer. So when I got this new three-pronged ice pack I went to town and was just a couple of hits the giant iceberg was broken up and I could easily get rid of the sheets of broken ice. I love this tool, it would also make a pretty awesome weapon of defense if one were inclined to wear something to defend themselves 👍🎉

This ice pick is a great tool. We don’t use our ice maker; which means we buy crystal clear bagged ice and dump it into the ice maker bin. We use the ice pick to break up the larger pieces of ice. The ice pick is very sturdy and sharp. You’d need to put it away from young children.

I was a bit worried by the wooden handle but it seems to be robust enough to use with a wooden mallet. Breaks ice for cocktails MUCH faster than a single pick and can even be used for carving or sculpting pieces quite easily.
