A little goes a long way so use sparingly . After giving my walking boots a good clean in all the nooks and cranies used a 1/2" paint to apply the oil making sure i got it on the stitching as well . After around 8 hours boots ready to go . Oil gives off a smokey smell which can get irritating after a while . On the whole a good product , only used it twice but does what it says on the tin. Would recommend

I sent it back, because I needed it for the next day on the shearling coat, and it said it had a temporary campfire smell, so I could not use it, but the reviews say it is a superior product and - my impression was that it is true

I live this stuff! Some people don't like the smell but it goes away fairly quick. I always have a can in the shop. Works great on leather boot, saddles, tach, anything the gets a lot of hard use and weather. It has many othe uses as well. All my hammer, axe, shovel handles get a good coating several times a year. I have even used it on the teak decking on my boat with great success. It does darken leather a bit but show me a good weatherproofing oil that doesn't?

Shoe oil worked great on my work boots. It does darken the leather quite a bit but that was to be expected. The leather did lighten up over time but if you are using it on Red Wing Heritage’s or something that leather color matter I wouldn’t recommend it. If you need to oil work boots or other boots where color doesn’t matter as much this is the oil for you.

Works well. Everyone that has leather in their home should have a bottle

Only needs a tiny amount each time. Smells like liquid smoke, so quite nice to apply. Softens leather very well, but doesn't waterproof the way wax or a spray would.

Great value for money. Fantastic for caring for real leather products, I use sparingly on shoes and bags for work and it is amazing. If you want to care for leather properly this is a go to. Little and I mean a very small amount will go a very long way. Also beware that some colour changes depending on the leather are to be expected.

This worked well for some nice leather shoes and boots (brown leather) for casual/business casual wear. Having used multiple products from this company, this oil is great for casual footwear and the boot grease is more ideal for work boots than need more durability. This darkens brown leather like many other products in the market. I have used this “feature” to oil shoes when a darker color is required.

I used Huberts shoe oil on a pair of boots. The oil is thick, dark brown color and has a unique scent. I had to use a rag to apply it, it does not have an applicator like some other brands. The oil went on easily, soaked in quick and darkened the leather from a redwood to a darker reddish brown. The leather was noticably more supple, did not feel oily to the touch. I wore the boots the next day, it was raining, the shoe oil did make them waterproof, the rain water did not penetrate into the leather.Huberds shoe oil performed well, I would recommend it to anyone who wants to protect their boots and other leather items. With good leather boots costing $400+ Huberds shoe oil gives great protection for minimal cost.

It's really good mood protection lasts a long time it does have a distinct odor to it but it's very good for work boots to keep you dry....

I've used Huberd's for decades on my boots, and I'm rough on boots. This stuff really works. It conditions the leather and keeps it hydrated so it doesn't crack or split. We live in the high altitude Rockies where the sun and lack of humidity wreaks havoc on boots. Huberd's works to combat this. Probably one of the best products I've used.It will darken up many leathers a little though, particularly lighter colored leathers, so be advised. Personally, I like the look it gives to leather because your boots immediately look like a well cared for boot. Just a note; it's not a 100% water"proofer" (for that you'll need something with wax), but it definitely makes your boots water resistant. I don't worry about my feet getting wet at all, stepping in a water hole or working in the snow. If I was wading in water that might be different, but then I'd use rubber boots anyway.

Old school remedy for old stiff heavy leather. Used to restore vintage saddlebags that had dried out and were too rigid to close properly. After multiple, generous applications the leather softened right up. Works best if the leather is at elevated temperature - do it outside on a hot sunny day and the leather will just drink in the oil. The result is not shiny but looks great. I suspect this stuff would do wonders for heavy leather boots. It has a smokey/peat smell to it so maybe not good for leather furniture or car seats.

This is a review for Huberd’s Shoe Oil. Huberd’s Shoe Oil is a leather oil and it is used for many different products. It keeps new leather soft and pliable and helps restore dried-out leather to its natural condition. I decided to use Huberd’s Shoe Oil on an old leather purse that I have. The Oil goes on very smoothly. After I applied one heavy coat, I could tell right away that the purse looked shinier and newer than before. You are supposed to leave the coat on overnight. Therefore, I rubbed one thick coat of Huberd’s Shoe Oil on my Leather purse on one side with an old t-shirt and let it sit overnight. The next day I realized there was some excess moisture so I wiped the leather down with the same cloth (old t-shirt) and the extra Huberd’s Shoe Oil was completely saturated into the leather making my old leather purse like new again. The smell was a little strong you could wear gloves but the oil and the smell washed off right away with warm soap and water.I would recommend this product definitely. I got an 8 oz. (227.3ml) bottle and I would say this bottle would last me at least one hundred applications. I am excited to use this oil on all my shoes, leather jackets, and I am sure Huberd’s Shoe Oil will make all of my hand bags like new again. This could save me hundreds! Thanks so much for reading and I hope you enjoy this product as much as I have. Suhila
