Useless product. The Flutes of the Die ripped apart on annealed Silver Steel. One file stroke took the edge right off the Die.

I used this set to chase threads while I was working on a micromanipulator, a piece of equipment associated with microscopy work. The die is not adjustable. However, an adjustable die that I found cost several times more and was not deemed cost affective given other approaches at my disposal. The die is very useful in giving screws a pass or fail and cleaning up the acceptable ones. For the price, this is all you need for machined aluminum. It gives a good assist in not needlessly damaging expensive equipment because of suspect or dirty threads. I used the die with my bare fingers for what I was doing. The tap may be best held with a larger sized pin vise if all you are doing is chasing previously tapped threads.

Another small item delivered in a giant padded envelope. At least it doesn't get lost. Above average quality, didn't really need the tap. Die was used to rethread some bungled electronic standoffs. Did the job. M2.5 is kind of an oddball size, no one local had anything on the peg. Once the threads were redone, the case kits went together and fit properly. This is a tiny die, not a standard 1", you'll either need reducers or a special die stock. I just used the thing naked, for rethreading not much torque was needed. Hopefully, it'll collect dust from now on because I won't need it for rethreading.
