I attached this fitting to a 5 gallon water bottle. Will come in handy to dispense water or I can attach my diaphragm pump to it and use it to supply water for my portable shower.Picture was taken during the leak check test to make sure the gaskets sealed properly. I added some teflon tape on the threads before assembling everything. Hardest part of the project was getting the nut onto the fitting inside the bottle. Bottle opening measured 1-5/8" in diameter.I'm sure a socket would have fit but I didn't have a swivel joint and an extension so I used a three foot long wooden rod attached to the end of my 150mm Knipex mini wrench. Attached the rod to the stationary side of the wrench handle and adjusted the jaws so that the movable handle stays open at 13/16". Closed the jaws and slipped the wrench into the bottle opening. Jaws opened up and I just slipped it over the nut to keep it from spinning while I turned the outside. Worked like a charm. Will definitely purchase more for my future projects.

Have purchased a different one locally that drains much faster. Has a larger opening in the spout.

Solid construction. The machining looks very good. The gaskets seals well on my rain barrel. The shutoff works well. Great value for the price.

The spigots that came with our rain barrels rusted out and started leaking. This one is brass so it will last much longer. The quarter turn makes it easier to fill jugs and our garden sprayer. I have purchased 2 and will likely buy a 3rd in the spring.

Work great for tappin' Homer (or other) buckets. BTW you local sandwich shop may just give you white 5 gallon buckets that pickles come in...the just smell like pickles...
