I put these on a Gretsch G5655TG. Very easy to install. The mounting plates allow for the curve in the headstock. My stock tuners were really stiff. These new ones cured that. Since they're locking tuners, string changes with the Bigsby are much easier. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade!

This is my second set of these that I have purchased, and they work amazing. Tuning stability - check, easy to install - check, great quality - check, easy to change strings - you get the idea. I also love that these come with the plates so you don't have to drill any holes or plug old holes. If I ever decide to sell my guitars, I can put them right back to original and keep the tuners. I would recommend these to anyone and everyone, they work great, are a great price, and will be buying more from Hipshot in the future.

At first, I was hesitant to try these tuners. I was worried that the Universal Mounting Plates would make the installation look a little hokey. To my pleasant surprise, the whole installation looked very rich and classy. The gears are silky smooth, and they make fine tuning my Ibanez AM93 semi-hollow body a simple and enjoyable task. The quality of the plating on these gold tuners as well as the supplied universal mounting plates appear to be top notch! I have a guitar with some very expensive Schaller tuners and several with Grover self-locking. In my opinion the Hipshots are a step above the rest at a fraction of the price. The installation was incredibly quick and effortless. I can highly recommend these to anyone who is looking for top quality tuners at a very reasonable price.Dennis

Fits and looks Great on my Yamaha FG830 guitar. These tuners will definitely work with the Yamaha FG series .This will also guaranteed to fit the Yamaha FS800 series as I have the Black version of these tuners on that guitar.Holds tune extremely well and very good quality product. Also the Fit and finish is outstanding for the price.

This is my third set of Hipshot locking tuners, my first 3+ set. I previously used inline-6 Hipshots on my Squier Affinity Telecaster (non staggered) and my Glarry ST (staggered). The third set went into my Kona K2 electric acoustic guitar.Installation was painless as always, but it was a bit trickier because I got used to have two universal mounting plates (from the two inline-6 kits) and this kit came with four plates. And the plates are so thin that when I opened the bag I thought I was missing one. That said, the instructions clearly warn you how to set them up, and this is just a 30-second speed bump. As you can see from my photos, you can still see the little screw holes, this is not a problem with the tuners or the universal mounting plates, these can easily be filled but I am not going to sweat this on a $150 guitar.Once installed, tuning was as always, very easy. And the tuners look beautiful, they really complement the guitar.Would I buy these again? Of course, I love them, and I will keep recommending these to anyone that is looking into upgrading from non-locking tuners.

The tuning keys arrived on time. They look great. The problem was that the screw holes do not line up with the original holes that are in the back of the head stock. Thankfully my head stock on my LP is painted black. I glued tooth picks in the wholes, cut them with a razor, touched them up with a black sharpie and installed the keys. You have to look to find the repair. Then once I tightened all the nuts and screws, it holds tune great. Please note that the screws they provide are cheep and striped. I had to use the original screws and by the way I did drill the new holes to the proper size. Good lock, they do work with a little work.

I received these as a birthday gift after finding them on Amazon and putting them on a list. I thought I had done my due diligence when placing these on my list, but I was wrong, not due to the product.I received them and I had already prepared my guitar neck for the installation. I quickly realized that the tuners were too short to fit through my headstock completely. As it turns out, I ordered the wrong type of tuner for my particular headstock. I thought I was going to have to return these, but I contacted HipShot directly and spoke with their support staff. They were beyond friendly and explained to me about the different heights of the tuners they offered and I had ordered the incorrect ones. They offered to exchange them for me (if I paid for the shipping) which was more than fair. Their support crew was attentive and friendly, I'm very happy I contacted them directly instead of just trying to return the items and having to re-order.The tuners themselves are outstanding. The bright gold finish is really beautiful (matching the replaced hardware). The materials are solid and constructed with top quality materials. The UMP (Universal Mounting Plates) are a godsend and a brilliant alternative to potentially having to drill into the headstock to make new tuners fit.I have not completed my guitar rebuild, so I haven't strung up the guitar yet. I will update the review once I do. But design, fit and finish and materials used are all top notch, so I'm confident these tuners will work splendidly.
