Purchased at the end of 2023. Mounted it on my boat in the summer of 2024 and used it two times and then it quit working. It was never left out in the weather. Worked good twice but then nothing after that. Tried two different batteries and even took it apart to see if a connection was broken, but everything seemed to be still soldered together. I just think the electronics is junk on it. I guess you get what you pay for.

Works good. Seems accurate. Wire is too delicate.

Was able to drop probe down to 35’ and check the temperature of the water. Could actually see it on my fish finder scope so could also correlate temperature to depth…worked great, the alternative sensors are hundreds of bucks….

Used this product to monitor the temperature down in my water well….. about down 16 feet. That is why the long electrical cord was needed….. to reach into my cottage. I wanted to make sure sand point and associated plumbing would not freeze in winter time.

As others have said, this is by no means an 'elegant' temperature gauge option. The unit itself is the size of a small clock (but does provide excellent digital readability) and when you consider the amount of thick black cording it comes with it's quite the unit to hold. Again, that's a good and bad thing. This comes with SO much length of cord that while you could measure to the bottom of near any lake I'd guess having that cord all the time is a bit much. I bundled mine up in four segments with a tie around each to just keep like 20 feet most accessable. But, it's digital, accurate and easy to use. I dislike the metal 'trout stream' type thermometers as they tend to be very hard to read and also in celcius, not to mention made of glass. There are trade-offs here but I'm happy with it.

This unit is bigger than I imagined it to be but seems to work well. I hope the probe is submersible as I plan to use it to measure water temperature at depth in lakes.

After sealing everything with silicone, couldn’t wait to go fishing. Lowered the sealed probe slowly into the lake to find the best temperature for fishing. As good or better than the $175 fish something gauge. I tested it against other thermometers and it’s within 2*. There is no auto shutoff, so remember to turn it off. Way bigger than it looks, I was expecting a 2 to 3” gauge but was surprised to find it was 6 inches across. Big and bulky gauge but easy to read. And the probe was heavy enough it went down easily.

Product works well with a large display. It has a very long wire. I had to return the 1st one because it leaked where the wire attached. Biggest issue is that it is not a NPT fitting. It is a straight pipe thread but it did seal on a PVC fitting with plenty of tape and sealant. Not sure if it would seal on a metal thread. I use it on my pool system so the pressure is only about 20psi.
