Purchased, installed and tested - I will follow up with an amendment later but as of March 1st, 2025, this feels like a quality chuck fora J33 and while it's not a real ball bearing chuck (none really are these days in the world of chinesium steel) it is smooth and hold tension. As an upgrade to the dinky chuck that came with a 90s Craftsman 12" drill press, it's a much needed upgrade. Alson with 4 new bearings and a belt, it's like a new drill press.

I bought this to replace the chuck on a Mastercraft bench top drill press. This chuck fit no problem and it looks to be higher quality than the original that came with the drill press. I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

In my neighborhood, I picked up a 8 1/2" Mastercraft Press Drill left on the side of the road. The chuck was removed and in bad shape. I took the drill to my place and powered it up and it worked fine. The shaft bearings were in great condition, so I order this product. I found a good video on You Tube and installed it the same way. I tested it, and it work great, no wobble and precise drilling. I recommend this product
