My Skil hammer drill uses a chuck just like this one and I needed a new one because mine was getting stuck closed and became very difficult to change bits. I had to partially disassemble my drill to install it, but it worked out great. They are pretty much identical after comparison. I'm glad to have this because it saved me having to buy a new hammer drill.

Now looking for an affordable mag drill that accepts Weldon shanks but does not come with a drill chuck adapter. Already acquired a set of annular cutters with Weldon shanks that I cannot use until I find the right magnetic drill machine. The Jacobs chuck part of this chuck adapter opens and closes smoothly. The 1/2-20 female thread on the adapter easily accepted a random slightly rusted 1/2-20 bolt I had in my shop. A good sign when you are testing products made in Asia to be used with products made in the USA. No iffy thread match. I can already bring work to my drill press and use small diameter annular cutters, but I cannot bring my drill press to outside work on farm equipment and vehicles. I'm confident however that I will eventually have mag drill capability with boring, reaming and drilling capability. If not this year, maybe next.
