Much Larger in Diameter than the Original Oem SWAYBAR THAT FORD CORPORATION INSTALLED.THANKS TO HELLWIG FOR PROVIDING VERY GOOD QUALITY SWAYBARS.AFTER INSTALLING THE HELLWIG SWAYBAR I DID NOTICE A LITTLE DIFFERENCE IN HANDLING BUT WEEKS LATER AFTER INSTALLING A HELLWIG SWAYBAR ON THE REAR I REALLY NOTICED A DIFFERENCE IN HANDLING WHILE DRIVING AND TURNING CORNERS AT HIGHER SPEEDS.DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED..

Easy install, it comes with bushings and mounts so that’s nice. It works like a charm, took away a lot of the roll, I still need to do the back

Install:I did some suspension upgrades in stages so I could rate each item I added. Vehicle is 03 Ford Excursion Diesel 4x4 with a 4" lift. I had upgraded an RV trailer from a 7500# Jayco to an 11000# Grand design and my sway control needed some attention. Rear sway bar is critical for the excursion since they didn't come with one. I had an older hellwig and replaced it with the new version that has the 3 adjustable end link locations. This was a big improvement on the rear as I dialed the adjustments in to the tightest position. Then I replaced the stock front sway with this hellwig. As others indicate there's some minor fit issues. On the Dana 50 front axle, the passenger side bushing mount doesn't fit, so I went with the stock one with moog bushing. The hellwig is just a tad larger diameter so the stock size bushing is just a bit too small. I went with it for now and will keep an eye on it. The holes for the bolts for the end links had to be reamed out as others pointed out. This was no big deal.Performance:This front sway control added a better balance to the vehicle front to rear with the hellwig in the rear. With the stock front sway the front was looser than the rear. Now the front and the back axles are much better matched and I would say that it is better "Tuned" in sway control with both front and back hellwigsConcerns:I've done some googling and cannot find replacement bushings for Hellwig sway bars either front or rear. Being that my truck is a 4x4 it tends to trash on bushings and time to time they need replacing. Also since I couldn't use the stock bracket on the front because it's too wide (And so are the hellwig bushings) I'm hoping to find a stock width bushing with a better diameter fit. As it is now there's about an 1/8" gap on the front bushings wrapped around that thicker hellwig bar. Despite this however, the vehicle is much more solid for a heavy tow.Knocking one star off for the bushings issue, would still buy again though.

I had already installed the Hellwig rear sway bar on my 2001 SD crew cab. The difference was remarkable. I wanted to replace the front to give it the added advantage. The result was a very balanced, HD feel that produced confidence while towing. The overall ride is not compromised at all. Bilstein shocks make the biggest improvement in the ride category.

I'm not sure how much of a difference this made on the ride as I also installed a rear sway bar at the same time. However, the instruction pictures are terrible. I don't blame Hellwig for this, but I actually ruined my engine as I installed the bar upside down. I have a full hoist and I had the Excursion up in the air. The instructions DO say to install it on the ground, but no reason is given except for "adjustment" and there is really none as it should line up with the links. I blew it and didn't check orientation (up or down in the middle) of the bar when I took it off. When I went to put it on, I realized I wasn't sure which way it went. The instruction picture quality was terrible so I looked on the Ford OEM parts diagram (shows up on the stock one) and looked at the wear pattern on the stock one I took off (showed that up appeared to be correct). When the rig came down on the ground, the bar was close but not touching the front differential. I assumed it was correct and drove it. Over a couple of months, the bar pushed in the oil pan and blocked the screen to the point the engine lost oil pressure. I ended up having to replace the engine over my mistake on a $200 sway bar. Anyway, I blew it in a lot of ways and I admit that. I just wish Hellwig would provide instructions with better picture quality so I would have been able to see affirmatively which way to install the bar.

My mechanic installed this, so I can't speak to that process, but I can tell a nice difference in the ride. It is a bit stiffer and much better than stock components. Another positive is that there is no more knocking under the floorboard!Use new end links ( and ), and go ahead and get the rear sway bar (). If you're doing the front, you may as well add the rear. The ride is MUCH better now. There is very little roll around corners and the ride feels much more stable. We just got back from a week long road trip with 7 people and gear...no complaints at all and the ride was smooth. We have a 2002 Ford Excursion.

Installed and replaced stock swaybar on a 2001 Ford Excursion 4x4. Installation was a breeze. The Chromoly steel bar is impressively hefty and has been a nice upgrade. Make sure to intall the rear swaybar as well from hellwig 7643 since Excursions don't come with one and is a must have for body roll on lane changes or cornering.Packaged and shipped on time. Quality product, would recommend.
