I have an old server that only has VGA output, but I only had a monitor with HDMI input and didn't want to buy a separate monitor just to set up my server. This solved my problem perfectly, allowing me to run video to my monitor and get my server set up quickly and easily. It does require USB power to run, and with the included power cable it was easy and fast to set up, and immediately works as expected.

Not sure if I got a defective one or what. But I cannot get any of my monitors to work off of this. I tried multiple ports. Even tried a couple different USB power adapters. I cannot get any of my monitors to work.

Not sure if I got a dud, but this VGA to HDMI adapter doesn't work as a stand-alone converter for me. Only if I plug in a VGA monitor AND the HDMI cable to a separate HDMI monitor could I get the HDMI output to work. That kind of defeats the purpose, in my opinion, but it does technically work. I would look around to see if there are other options that can reliably go from VGA to HDMI without needing a separate connection like this one seems to.

I used this to allow an old HP ProBook 6475b to access an HDMI monitor. I often find VGA laptops like this on auction sites for next to nothing because they do not support HDMI, or USB or some other current standard. If all they are being used for is browsing the internet or testing software (as is my case) they are probably fine for the purpose. This creates an inexpensive way to have a portable computer rather than just the desktop machine. This worked fine with one minor cravat. It changed the aspect ratio on the laptop’s screen while it was plugged in. It cut off about a half inch of screen width on each side. The external HDMI monitor was unaffected and used the full size of the screen. So, the laptop acted like the screen was one inch narrower than it really was. I am not sure whether the problem was with the laptop or Windows or this adapter, so even though it might not be fair to the vendor, I am deducting one star for that narrowing of the laptop’s screen width.

This is a handy converter unit. I have an older pc with VGA that I want to use a newer LCD monitor for it. This makes it easy...plug in and play . I can now share one HDMI monitor for two computers. There is no setup needed. It just works .

The TIMEJONS VGA to HDMI Adapter works. I have an old HP m7747c computer running Windows Vista Home Premium with an Intel Core Duo processor that I bought at Sam’s club in April 2007. I used it for eight years and it has just been sitting since 2015. It only has DVI and VGA ports. I connected everything up and to my amazement, it all worked great, even the sound. I highly recommend this device if you need to resurrect old hardware to play with newer HDMI displays.

This adapter kit is working perfectly for my old media laptop with a VGA out to a newer HDMI projector. It comes with an HDMI cord, male to male stereo audio cord, and USB power cord so everything needed to use it is there in the box.The HDMI sound was automatic when I plugged the audio cord into my laptop's stereo out and the USB power from the laptop was enough to make it work fine. It worked as expected, and it works with custom resolutions I noticed which is useful and cool. The picture quality and audio syncing to the HDMI out was as good as it should be the whole time I tested.Any device with a VGA out like an old media computer or laptop will work perfectly with the setup you get here and I can easily recommend it.
