If only replacing remote, not to include transmitter, brand doesn't matter as long as FCC frequency matches that listed on old remote. In this case harbor breeze model matched and worked great on Hunter ceiling fan. You must also manually change "dip switches" in new remote battery compartment to match those in old remote.

Ordered this replacement after our puppy chewed up original remote. It did not work right out the box and no instructions for set up!! Had to do a lil research and finally found written instructions that I screenshot but still didn’t understand them. I called customer service but they were not much help. Had to unscrew back to open and expose switches.It had 4 switches with 16 different position setting options. I had to manually try every option using the trial and error method. The instructions literally said “patience is key here”.Of course it didn’t work til option 16 🙄😡 and barely worked at that! I no longer can turn the light all the way off so if I need the ceiling fan on it’s coming with dim lighting 😤Not happy!!!

Sometimes it works sometimes it don’t. I hit the light button and the ceiling fan comes on. I have to play with the button a few times before the light cuts on or off for me. But hey it serves the purpose.
