I got this item for my elderly aunt to safely traverse the stairs going down into her bedroom. I didn’t want to tackle installation myself, so my brother did that part. He didn’t have any trouble, but he is a master cabinet maker and knows his stuff. My aunt now feels safe going up and down the stairs to her room and into the house. All metal construction makes this sturdy and safe. The size is unobtrusive, and they look fine though they’re not beautiful by any means. Since they function as expected, they deserve a five star review.

We enjoy using it. It seems real sturdy. But we needed to put a piece of plywood on the wall to connect to 2 2x4’s so that it would be real sturdy.

This handrail was easily mounted on my garage wall using a 3/4" backer board screwed to studs. We have a very steep 3-step stair going into the house, and there was nothing to hold on to except the door knob. The product comes with several types of fasteners, but I would not trust the drywall anchors to hold the rail, especially in torsion. The rail has a smooth, powder coated finish with no sharp edges. Very pleased.

After mounting the hand rail my wife & I agree it’s the easiest railing we’ve used to get in (and out) of the house. It’s size and scale are perfect for our 2-step entry. It’s very sturdy and easy to install.
