I bought these and found that they were the only ones that fit my pond pump. I could not find an adapter at Home Depot/ Lowe’s that would screw on to my pump (1 1/2”) and reduce to a threaded 1”. This fit and worked with my water diverter that I had.

needed to seal a 1" NPSH type discharge hose to a pump. Basically a larger version of garden hose, had same thread pitch as 1" NPT type, common fittings, HOWEVER, the hoses are NON tapered threads, of NPSH, RATEHR than NPT standard, where the seal occurs not between the male/female threads, but with a gasket seal at end of fitting. A NPT 1" Male Threaded MIP (Male Iron-Pipe) adapter, being tapered, could not thread in far enough to this female end of the 1" discharge hose from Harbor Freight to press against the rubber washer to seal it up. I was please that the 1" male threads are actually in the NPSH pattern w/ non-Tapered threads, so I was able to hook that hose up to the output of my check valve assembly.The 1-1/2 female threads, they may not be tapered, but you can get a seal w/ Teflon tape or whatever.
