This is a great sliding mitt. It is a great size for 14yo girl hands and my daughter loves the feel of it - not big and floppy. Her school team colors are Red & back so the Cherry Bomb design is perfect for her. It is well sewn with all smooth edges both inside & out. The elastic cuff is soft & easy on/off. It has a nice thick protective pad on the top to protect her finders from cleats when sliding head first - which she almost always does. It has proved to be very durable and very protective. She loves it and it definitely gives her extra confidence when running the bases.

I ordered the mitt for right hand but they sent the mitt for left hand (my order is clearly marked that I ordered right hand, but the mitt is clearly marked that it's for left hand, so not my mistake). Regardless, it worked out because I actually should have ordered the left handed mitt since my son is naturally right handed. You want to make sure you order the mitt for your NON primary or NON ball-throwing hand. Mitts are made to protect the hand you don't normally use as the primary. This mitt is very well made, just as good as the name brands you buy in the sports stores. The price is less, reflecting the non-name brand, but the quality is very good. Also, the bright tones, color combinations and ice-cream with sprinkles is just the right amount of drip for our ball-playing kids. My 14 year old son is on two baseball teams and each team has two home/visitor uniforms so that's four uniforms with different colors that he tries to match with his sliding mitts. Having a great mitt option like this that adds safety while still being "fashionable" makes it a little easier on the wallet when you're buying multiples!
