Love this product - as a golfer who does most of his own club maintenance this is a grip saver and even better time saver. Just a little solvent in behind the tool and it helps quickly release the grip from the club.

Start the tip in the grip and pour whatever solvent you use down the channel of the remover and start twisting the club and add solvent as needed while pushing the tool and twisting and the grip comes right off undamaged. Great tool!

First, let me say it does what it's supposed to do, and it does it well. Then, let me say that it takes some time to get good at removing grips. At first, I was trying to plunge it all the way down to the end of the grip. I wasn't having much luck and almost threw the thing out. Then I tried inserting it a few inches and twisting the club so that the tool spiraled around the shaft. Voila! With consistent pressure, each spin of the shaft gets you about an inch closer to the end. The grip is off in no time. This will come in handy for removing stock grips on fancy putters so I can reinstall them later if I sell the putter on.

I figured I would try this style of grip removal tool, as I wanted to remove and re-install a couple of oversize Flat Cat putter grips, which are thick and very stiff. Took a little more effort than I was expecting, but with patience and frequent addition of mineral spirits the grips came off in good shape for the reinstall.I highly recommend using this tool, as opposed to trying to make a homemade version. There is way more stiffness and resistance to twisting with the Golf Works tool than you could get with any homemade version, and this is essential to help you work the end of the tool deeper and deeper into the grip. I would expect it to work flawlessly on normal club grips that are worth saving. Highly recommended.

The grip remover does work as intended. The handle is a nice feature. I wish the blade was a bit thinner for slipping under grips that are less robust such as the golf pride z cords but over all it gets the job done. The biggest problem is the price. Essentially it’s a steel bbq skewer with a handle.
