These speakers take a 7 INCH grill. NOT a 6.5 INCH grill. They may be 6.5 INCH, but they're in a 7 INCH mounting frame. If you buy 6.5 INCH grills, they will be too small.

In a properly tuned enclosure, these woofers sound quite good. They can deliver good low end bass with nice midrange response. These are only 80 WRMS with a limited cone excursion so you can’t get expect thundering bass. I purchased the 4 ohm version of these. Zobel circuit in crossover is recommended as the impedance climbs quite a bit over 200 Hz. They do look quite good. I would purchase these again.

I like the look of these speakers. That was the primary reason I tried them. Unfortunately, the bass extension is weak and the frequency response seems uneven or peaky compared to other 6.5" woofers I've used including a couple models of Peerless truncated frame woofers and the Dayton Audio Reference series. If I hadn't been spoiled by the sound those other brands produce, I may have enjoyed these speakers more, so I admit a bit of experience-based bias. I am also very picky about the "tightness" and accuracy of bass reproduction. I like a sharp kick without the extended "ringing" (boom) that some enjoy. These woofers are nothing special in that regard. They aren't what I would call sloppy in their bass reproduction, but they do seem to lack that quick kick in the chest punchiness which is typically found in most of these smaller, more nimble woofers. I should mention that the power handling is one area where these are above average. You can send these woofers some serious power and they accept it in stride. However, my general opinion is that these woofers are competent, but not inspiring for the price. This is why I gave them 4 stars.
