Specifically liked the fact that I don’t have another long cable to manage with my desk setup. Fairly priced and got the job done.

Have an older monitor with only DVI and VGA connectors, and a new computer with only HDMI and Displayport outputs. Connected this to the HDMI port, and it works fine without needing to connect the USB cable. The picture was no different than the output from the old computer.

I'm not sure if it's just my computer, but I needed to plug this adapter into power for it to work. Initially I just plugged in the video cables, but the adapter wouldn't pass video through. Once I plugged in the micro USB cable to power, it started working. Once I figured that out, I've had no issues.

This was a test adaptor to connect a small PC with ONLY an HDMI video output to an older VGA ONLY monitor. I had 2 older monitors - one was very old (from 1997) that had limited VGA modes. This adaptor did not work on that oldest monitor. However, a slightly newer one from 2013, it worked perfectly! The difference was the refresh rates and modes of the VGA in the monitor. The image on the newer VGA was crystal clear. The USB connector was not needed. Note that this adaptor really has no instruction manual, but most who would need this would probably know what they're getting and how to connect it. It's a simple solution for a monitor that only has VGA and you need to connect it to an HDMI output. You're not going to get super high resolution - but you wouldn't expect that with VGA anyway. I also used external speakers, so the audio cable worked with the HDMI digital audio output, but I went direct from the dedicated audio output.

Easy to use. I wanted an adapter to go from a DVD player with HDMI output to an old video projector with only 15-pin VGA connector input. This fits the bill nicely. Compact. The screws on my connecting VGA cable were very difficult to get to screw into the adapter body inserts -- on looking closely, the threads in the adapter body inserts seem set a little too deep. Most folk don't even use the screws to secure the connection, so not a big concern. The VGA socket worked fine even when not secured by the screws. The picture was only limited by the antiquated video projector. I also tried it with a VGA monitor, and it worked.
