It seems that DW has severely neglected Gibraltar hardware since their takeover, but rest assured that this stand is every bit as good as anything with the DW badge. This is an incredible value for what you’re getting. Heavy duty, sturdy, smooth, and very adjustable. It’s a no-brainer—unless you really like overpaying for hardware, have matching pedals, or need to be in the “in” crowd with a different brand name.Happy Drumming!

This is a light duty stand that is good for light to medium volume playing. The harder you stomp on the pedal and play the more it may be apt to sway.I use it for light lounge music and 90s pop rock. It works well enough. The fold up legs are stable enough for the style and the flat legs allow for other stands to move around it.

Clamps and wing nuts are sturdy. Tripod is stable. Foot board feels great although I do prefer a little wider. It has a tension adjustment as well. I think this paired with a Gibraltar super clutch is a great bargain. I have other high dollar stands and I’ll never waste my money again, this one works great and appears well constructed.

As expected from Gibraltar - this is heavy-duty, well made, well thought out.Heavy base foot plate, detachable for screw-down options. Stand and leg bracings are solid. The adjustable leg swivel is very nice for fitting around a double-bass pedal and snare legs. The liquid action on the pedal stroke doesn't necessarily feel a lot different from a normal, direct-pull stand - except I find it has a bit more 'push back' or 'push up' tension. Really just a little toe lift will get you easy finesse on hi-hat work. I'm a heel-up drummer - so this feature helps a good deal with hi-hat footwork. I noticed that difference immediately. The stand is, again, a very top-notch product - all features available. Not too bad on setup / assembly time - and you're ready to go.

This stand is a very good value, 4.5 stars from me as I needed the swivel base and overall wanted a sturdier stand than the one that came with my set. A Pearl branded stand of similar value and features would cost almost twice as much. The issue I had as others have mentioned is the clutch does eat into its 7mm rod and chew it up really fast. Although it holds well, I didn't want this to get worse so I ended up having to order the Gibraltar super clutch that grips the rod all the way around which seems to be a better solution. The super clutch also locks down with a set screw so it won't loosen where the cymbal is held, which is good since this original clutch came loose once when I was playing and dropped the top cymbal where it couldn't be lifted even though the clutch was still attached to the post. The weirdest part is that here on Amazon it is cheaper to buy a super clutch individually over the one that came with this hi hat stand. If Gibraltar would just include the super clutch to begin with this setup would be phenomenal and 5 stars, but a it's a little annoying I had to invest more since the hi hat rod is a softer metal than my older one which never got chewed up by a standard clutch. I like how the pedal is smooth with no rough edges to catch on your foot, and has a nice base for accommodating heel down playing too. The spring tension can also be adjusted though I feel like I didn't need to add any extra tension for a good feel.

I would recommend this hi-hat stand for the quality and the fair price point. Overall it is well made, easy to assemble, and doesn't have ANY balance/stability issues. This held the hi-hat without any problems, no wobbly, I felt confident in the build quality. The pedal works great, there really is no real issues with this stand. I'm sure more experienced players may have their cons but this is really good for a beginner/intermediate level on a budget. I'd recommend, I hope this helps :)

I purchased this stand after a collective decade of postponing. I had my previous stand for far too long and I needed an upgrade. Very pleased with this product! I would use the term "Liquid" throughout the entire description, but, for reduncies sake, I'll spare you. Liquid; as in, every moving part on this stand is flawless, very well made, structurally sound, and perfect for my playing style. I've got Axis A-21 Laser (Giant) double pedals, as well as the Pearl PD-120P pedals. They both fit perfect under the adjustable tripod. Perfect, controlled, highly responsive feel. (Playing Zildjian Avedis Custom 14" hi-hats (fairly heavy))

light weight and works great.the only thing is the legs do not rotate so using it with a double kick set up might be tough. currently not a problem for me but if i switched I would need to change back to another stand.this is howeever light and sturdy. used it for over 60 shows this summer set up and tear down and traveled well. much smaller footprint also which is nice on tigh stages.I have the spring set to the maximum tension so if you had 15" hats or really really heavy hats i would test it out ourself.but it is MUCH cheaper than the other flat base stands so I love it.
