Greenland paddles are different from traditional American kayak paddles, but work quite well. This one in particular is extremely lightweight, reducing the effort needed to simply hold it up and move it through the water. Also, the thin blade cuts the water well. The carbon fiber is stiff but has some spring to it as well, and the tips, which can be vulnerable to striking rocks or other hard surfaces, are replaceable and this package COMES WITH REPLACEMENTS, which is excellent forward-thinking by this brand. The price is steep, but the value is worth this unique design wrought in carbon fiber.

It took a little adjustment getting used to the Greenland style of paddle but I absolutely love it. The build quality is top notch and it performs wonderfully. The thin blade edge does dig into your hand a bit when holding it at the very end but I don't find it uncomfortable. The ferrule is very tight and moves through the hand very smoothly when sliding the paddle from end to end.

I’ve paddled about 50 miles with this paddle, and can say that it is excellent. I’m used to using a wood Greenland paddle, so this is a huge improvement. Extremely light and efficient, it is an excellent design. It is very easy to use if you are experienced with Greenland paddles. I waited a long time before investing in a nice composite paddle, and I can say this one is definately worth the money. It’s fun to use and fast. You can go all day with this paddle without feeling tired.

I am new to the Greenland paddle world but I am very impressed by the Kalleq! The first thing I noticed when I received the paddle was how light it is. Wow! I was first attracted to Greenland paddles due to their reputation for being well suited for long distance paddling, and the light weight of the Kalleq will make it even more effective for this purpose. The paddle feels very natural in my hands; holding it with the thumb and forefinger at the far ends of the loom gives the blades a forward cant which should help to remove any flutter. The Kalleq is a great choice for the Greenland paddle enthusiast!
