Gates is a trusted belt for me, my 1998 Ford Ranger 2.5 has a non-interference engine but is still do not want to be on the side of the road or in traffic if the timing belt breaks.Gates timing belts, I've found, are just as durable and reliable as the original equipment. I have no trouble paying extra for that peace of mind.This unit comes with a well build timing belt idler and a maintenance sticker for future reference and I like that.

Tensioner failed after two miles causing the timing belt to fall off. I was stranded 2 miles from home. The belt works fine so far. From gates this is very disappointing they seem to be the gold standard in aftermarket. Next time I'm going back to Motorcraft for this part.
