Far less in quality! Have had this belt for only a few months and the back has separated and the holes are weak. This is nothing but a fashion belt, not for true support.

This belt is the brown model with slotted apertures for the key, not square, and it is perfect! Solid soft leather, handsome bronze buckle, and the price point is terrific! One helluva belt! Do order 2 sizes up from your size as some have recommended...

I wanted a 2" belt to better fill my belt loops. This is a nice looking belt but it doesn't hold up. The holes for the buckle get stretched out of shape. They deform to the point that its hard to thread the belt in and out of the pants.

For umpiring, reffing etc., he’s looked high & low for a 2inch belt, and one that is sturdy. THIS is IT! GREAT BELT! He was extremely happy I found this & loves EVERYTHING about it!

Great belt. It's also made in canada. Quality is very good, it is hard to find a 2" leather belt.

Wish there was more 2" belts available, they actually fit the belt loop put on pretty much every pair of pants I own!

I've been shopping for the widest belt I could find for jeans and hiking shorts. Well, this has got to be it. No other belt I have found comes anywhere close. I despise having jeans and shorts roll over a belt. This will solve it for the hiking shorts--it makes the waist band stand up. I was surprised to discover that the belt is actually too wide for my jeans--looks like I will need something in the area of 1-3/4" to cover them. Other reviewers have said the belt fits their jeans...so I would suggest cutting a piece of paper or cardboard at 1-7/8 inches (the actual width of the belt) and try sliding it through your belt loops before you order. So far, I have zero issues with the quality--a nice, thick, wide belt.

Ok, so it's wide. It barely fit the loops in my Banana Republic jeans; it may not fit yours at all. But the beauty of this thing is it's a perfect belt to thread through tool pouches or an arrow quiver, and for not much more than a cardboardy, ill-fitting hardware store tool belt. This one is supple and decent looking. I think they must run short by about 2 inches because I ordered 6 inches over my real waist size and it still pretty much fits as a tool belt. I was expecting it to be long but I guess I got lucky.

Made in Canada, the leather seems to be good quality - it's thick, yet flexible. Love the clunky buckle. Thanks to other reviewers, I ordered two sizes up [I wear 32", but got 36"], and I agree that's the best idea -- a 34" would have "worked" for me, but the extra length is comfortable, and the tab looks better. Actually, I'm surprised at how much a 2" belt [instead of 1-1/2"] improves the fit - and the appearance! - of my 501s. Highly recommended!14 Dec 2016: This is a follow-up to my original review, which WAS five stars. I wear this belt nearly every day, and it shows practically no sign of damage of any sort around the holes. It's thick yet flexible, and has remained black. HOWEVER, my husband just ordered one, and it is notably thinner, and has a shiny finish instead of matte. He's not sending it back, but the pronounced deterioration of quality is disappointing."TOXIC" is a NON-PROBLEM: I used to live in California, so I know that the toxic warning label is a by-product of CA's *extreme* PC attitude. The simple act of curing leather with chemicals means it gets a sticker. All kinds of stuff gets needlessly tagged, even gas pumps [are you stopping driving?] and everybody knows it's nuts. Do you really think you are going to contract cancer from a belt!? Ill-informed paranoia, not to say ridiculous.

As the only other reviewer (at this time) has mentioned, it's practically impossible to find a 2" wide belt, especially if you don't want the type with a double row of continuous notches. The actual width on this one is about 1.88".I have a 34" waist but bought a 40" partly because (like the other reviewer) I wanted the end to tuck into the pant's belt loop. When I center the belt buckle, this belt's loop is about 1/2" or less from the pant's first loop. So the pant's first loop isn't very useful, and a 38" would have been fine. However, another reason I got a size longer than I needed is because I was already planning on adding my own notch, so that I could have a more accurate fit - not ideal, but as good as it gets for a notched belt. With the 40" length, I can add my own custom notch further in past the existing notches.CONS:The biggest con so far is that unlike some belts using snaps, the buckle can't be replaced. What a shame.A potential con would be if the dye rubs off and the belt is light colored underneath - I will edit review if that's the case.PROS:The leather is perfect consistency for me: as soft and pliable as it can be while still maintaining form. Very pleased about that. The buckle is as pictured but less shine, which makes it appear more solid and "antique" - another nice surprise. I was actually shopping for a 2" wide belt with a less substantial buckle, but since that was never the intent here, I'm glad they did an outstanding job with "classic bold".I don't "love" this belt as 5 stars is supposed to indicate, but I'm giving it 5 stars based on the photos and my initial impression of the quality.
