Please read the fine print! This phone cannot be returned even if it doesn't work. So disappointed and what a waste of a lot of money in these tough times. They should be ashamed of themselves!!!

Extremely easy to set up. No charging required. It was easy to program auto dial numbers.I only wish it announced the caller name, which her old phone did. Other than that it is great for an elderly person who is experiencing difficulty operating a phone.

Very simple to operate. Allows an elderly person to stay in touch. Wish I had known about this sooner

Perfect for an institutionalized elderly relative to use who has a cognitive impairment. Once cell phone and even conventional wired desk phone use becomes limited or sometimes impossible, direct two way communication to a responsible family member remains rewarding for both parties. This phone serves that purpose. In our case all buttons, except one, on this phone have been programmed to call the number of one cell phone we have. A message can be left to us but not vice versa. Although we cannot leave a message to this phone, neither can anyone else including telemarketers. Such nuisance calls/messages can be upsetting to the elderly recipient. The one button not dedicated to call us does call the institution’s desk. The institution has all our cell phone numbers to call us in case of emergency. Our cell phone, this phone is programmed to call, is put away at night so the health surrogate can get some sleep. The health surrogate has another cell phone that the institution has the number so this is kept nearby at night. Before acquiring this phone there were times the relative could not call us due to an inability to remember how to use the cell phone and after that the conventional desk phone. However those devices did not prohibit calling 911 or randomly pushing numerals and sometimes getting a connect to some stranger on the other than end. Emergency Services 911 and, in one case an individual known to us who, received a closely related numerical dialed call, informed us of these occurrences. Those circumstances have been eliminated.

My dad is 90, living in assisted living, and couldn't work his iphone anymore.First, logistics. You connect the cell phone to this phone. This does NOT use the old connect to the wall tech. Coverage is completely through the cell phone. This phone can be used as a regular phone - dial numbers like push button phone, with one-button calls to 911 also. I got the model with a speaker phone. We found the handset to have much better quality sound than the speaker. More importantly, you can set it to NOT use the numbers as numbers, but to use them as one-button calls to pre-programmed numbers. The numbers have plastic covers over number papers, and you can replace the number slips with pictures. My dad can't see 1" photos anymore, so we used colored initials - nice and bold. Mine is red "C" that he can see easily. Also, if you take off the plastic covers altogether, there are raised rough numbers. Dad picked out where he wanted one of his friends, and preferred no cover, but he can feel the number 7 on that button. We disabled the 911 button since dad sometimes fidgets and just pushes buttons randomly. Also, the switch for regular vs one-button calling is on the back and not that easy to do randomly, so dad can't switch back and forth by himself, which is good! We don't want him to be able to dial randomly and wake someone up in the middle of the night. We've been very pleased with this. It's given dad several months of being able to use a phone.

We were excited to purchase this phone for mom. Mom was moving to a senior facility where the staff will provide most of her needs. One of mom's regular activities was talking for her family. Since mom is aging we were looking for a phone that would make it easier for her to call her family. We programmed the phone following the instructions provided. It didn't work. We looked over the instructions and the bottom of the phone for support information. We called the number and left a message. Then we called right back and a gentleman answered the phone. He walked us through every step and we were successful. The instructions need to be updated to reflect the steps correctly. We tested everything at home then took the phone to mom. We were surprised when it didn't work. Fortunately, the social worker was with us. She asked if we dialed a "9" to get an outside line. This was new information. We reprogrammed the phone to add a "9" then the area code then the phone number. We thought all was well but it didn't work for mom's sister that lived out of state. We realized we needed to add a "1" before the area code for a long distance number. In our particular case for the out of state sibling we needed to a "9" to get an outside line then add the "1" for long distance then the area code then the phone number. We called everyone whose picture is on phone to test it out. Everyone was so excited to be able to talk with mom. Mom is now calling people testing out her new phone. We love it. We think mom loves it. She can now do the things that are familiar to her.I do hope the manufacturer will correct the instructions. They would definitely receive more great reviews.

I bought this for an elderly family member who has poor vision and worse hearing. The pictures and one button dialing is great and easy enough to program. The sound is pretty distorted and when turned up loud enough for him to hear really distorts, and it’s not maxed out, Just poor design or cheap parts. It is usable enough for an emergency and necessary calls, but you wouldn’t want to have a long chat on it.
