I usually don't review products until I've used them for a while, but these rings work like a charm, screw on as smooth as butter and come with the right size for every lens I own. most other kits don't include the 58mm!!! how can you not include the size of the most popular prime lens out there!?I purchased a pretty expensive variable neutral density filter for size 77mm lenses but also want to use it on my 50mm and 60mm lenses, with this kit I'm able to do just that and no need to purchase another pricey filter to use on my smaller lenses. I use these to step-up from 58 to 77 and 62 to 77, with a few rings but it works!only issue with stacking so many rings is at the time of taking them off lol most come off together except the one actually on the lens. that one I take off after, it's not like it gets stuck or its impossible to take off just seems to have a better grip on the lens than amongst the rings. very minor issue inherent of the amount of rings stacked and do not see it as a flaw or defect on this set.I'm very happy with the performance, quality and look of this set.

I've had these rings for a couple years now and they work great. They can be a bit of a challenge to loosen if they're on too tight, otherwise a good product. I often use mine altogether as a lens shade when they're not required.

I've bought many cheap versions on Ebay in the past and I finally decided to buy a whole set to cover all my bases. The difference in quality is very minimal between Fotodiox and those from overseas - about the only difference being the better quality white lettering on the rim. The threads are not buttery smooth but its acceptable for occassional use. Most people buy these step-up rings when they have multiple lenses of different thread diameters and they want to use a large filter to attach to all their lenses. You can use any sequential combination of step-up rings together to get to the desired filter size. The problem with that is when the position of the filter is too far away from the lens (ex: attaching many rings to accomodate 52mm to 77mm), you can run into the problem of severe vignetting if the lens' focal length is wide enough. For example, my 35mm prime lens using 52-55-58-62-67-72 rings with a 72mm filter will get very dark corners in the pictures. Another possible issue is when using a macro lens and the filter is again positioned away from the lens. In this case, there's greater chance of dust particles/imperfections on the filter that can affect your pictures. Another issue to keep in mind is that when using these step-up rings, your original lens cap will no longer fit on the filter, which is now oversized, and unfortunately, any lens hood that you had will no longer be able to detach/attach with a oversized filter blocking the way. With those caveats out of the way, these step-up do their job just fine, hence the 4-star rating. Ideally, step-up rings should be avoided altogther because there is no real advantage to them apart from ecomonical savings. But if it comes down to it, at the most I would use 2 to 3 rings together as my recommendation. Hope this helps.

I'm an ameature photographer with a D90 and 3 lenses. I decided to take advice I'd read and been given and stop buying various size filters and use step up rings to standardize around 77mm filters. This doesn't seem like a big deal if you are buying $15 filters, but once you start buying $50 filters (or more!) then the thought does occur to you that this could get expensive (hey... if you want a cheap hobby, get out of photography!).I've used these on a 52mm lens and on a 67mm, with filters of varying sizes up to 77mm (my new standard size). My thoughts are that they are reasonably well manufactured rings. Quite light but sturdy. Some people have written about problems with them becoming jammed together. My advice on that is to remember that these rings are just a mount for your filter... they are not holding your car engine in place. Tighten accordingly :-). I've been tightening them just to the point of resistance and have had no problems in 20+ uses. I've also read that the threads are small and hard to use. While I can see how people could become frustrated and damage the threads, if you use a reasonable degree of patience you'll be fine. My technique is to hold them gently together and turn them a little as if I was undoing the thread, then reverse to screw them together... perhaps going back and forth gently a couple of times to "seat" the threads together before I get them together. In any case, at the price of these little babies, you could afford to get a couple of sets and still be way out in front compared to the cost of buying multiple filters.I don't give out a 5 star review very easily but in this case I see no reason to hold back. There are much more expensive German made items on the market that may be more durable and quicker to thread than these, but for a guy with a family and a budget, these rings are great.

It's a god accessory for its price. I've not used it effectively yet, just few tests at home. But I think it was a bit difficult to fix on the lens. It fits easily, but I can few the friction between the materials of the lens, the adapter and the filters. I didn't like this felling very much.

I was looking specifically for a 67-72mm step up ring, but the price on this product was so low, that I bought these instead. This step-up ring set is made of all metal, the threading makes attaching and detaching from the lens / filter fairly effortless. Storage is very easy, since the rings all screw together, making a tidy little cone. I have zero complaints about the filter ring set. One caveat is that you may not be able to use your lens hood while a larger filter is attached; this isn't so much a problem with the ring set, but a configuration that wasn't accounted for by the lens manufacturer. If a lens hood is an absolute requirement, then there are screw mount lens hoods on the market that will attach to these as well. With the low cost and high utility of this ring set, I would consider it a "must-have" for any photographer's toolbox.
