Make sure to clean the walls first if using the adhesive hanging method.

I wouldn't know that however tho.... Since it DIDN'T COME WITH INSTRUCTIONS!! Seriously??Yes, seriously!!I knocked off 2 stars for that. Not sorry. I'm not a maintenance worker, I'm not a shelf installation professional!! Nor am I a psychic. I'm just a Home health aide. Ergo idk how and/or where all these pieces go together!!So if you like buying something that's in a plethora of pcs, don't mind not knowing how to put it together, and rather solve a puzzle instead of actually being able to put your shelf together, go ahead & buy this 1!! However if you're like me, where you don't like to play guessing games & have no idea where all these pcs are supposed to go, I highly suggest getting a different brand elsewhere. As other brands of shelves, do actually come with instructions on how to put them together!! (I've bought plenty, ik)It's VERY DISAPPOINTING that there isn't any instructions!! Nevertheless I'm not the only one who didn't receive them!! Another customer wrote in their review how they didn't receive instructions either.

It's great where you can't fit a table or a nightstand of sorts but you do have the wall space available. One thing I think should be included would be maybe instructions and the proper drill bit sizes needed to mount this on a more permanent level. I used the sticker mount method because I didn't want to randomly put holes in the wall that I can't use or have to redrill. Also glad I had a level laying around from a tv mount kit. This would be way more crooked than it is without a level.

It comes with different ways to attach to wall. Don’t use the sticky adhesive patches. They appear to be strong for the first few days then it will fall with whatever you have on there. Not designed for heavy objects unless you use the correct method of hanging up on wall.

The adhesive pads provided do not stick to the wall very well at all, was not able to put anything over a few pounds on the shelf without the adhesive coming loose.
